That's because The Beatles are nothing now and that album had zero promotion. If they were still in there prime there first week global sales would be like 10 million.

No kidding. Beatles are right up there with Elvis and Madonna worldwide. I wish ayu was an international artist, but never gonna happen.

Actually, Ayu really is, indirectly at least. She is released now in the US with iTunes, and Europe digs her trance and house mixes. In the end, Ayumi is famous worldwide without her even needing to leave Japan.

But at least she's #2. With pretty low sales, might I add.

As well, Japan is known for its' huge crazy 1st week album sales. The largest 1st week sales in the US is ~2m by NSYNC. In Japan, A BEST and Distance both managed to beat that number even with the smaller industry.

"Still in their prime"? Are you crazy? Beatles will always be in their prime. And at least here in Brazil, the album had crazy big promotion. Plus, this United World Chart don't count the whole world sales, just very few countries with official charts (Countries in Europe, USA, Australia, Japan).

Lol. Madonna? They are MUCH higher than Madonna. I'm not saying Madonna isn't a big legend but she doesn't have a fraction of the Beatles' popularity.
