[Gossip] Ayu on Tantei File

Quote:
Italics are the person's thoughts [blogger from Choscandalous]

On the infamous Tantei File site, readers voted for their top ten celebs that they wish would dissapear off the face of the earth. Let's see who gossip blog reading Japanese people hate.

10. "Young people still call her 'granny'": Hoshino Aki
Hoshino Aki turns 30 this year and has been widely celebrated (apparently mostly within the middle aged men crowd) as "pushing 30 but still hot." The majority of those who voted for here were in the younger female crowd who said such things as, "Consider your age" and "Why are you still playing a big-breasted babe character at 30 something?"
I say people are just hatin' and OLs needs to get over the fact that your life does not end when you turn 30. Jesus, this is why y'all have a population crisis.

9. "Most hated amongst her peers": Matsuura Aya
Oh Ayaya. Even Japanese people are tired of your burikko antics with such comments as "She's phony" and "I get pissed off when I see that burikko. She's so fake." She's been seen with w-inds' Keita.
I'm sorry but Ayaya looks like Maeken amirite?

8. "She hates what she did but people just plain hate her": Abiru Yuu
"She's not 'feisty' she's just plain rude. She doesn't know how the world works." I am by no means an expert on female idols (I mean what does Abiru Yuu actually do?) but all I know about her was how she robbed a store, made them bankrupt because of that, and wasn't the least bit remorseful. If yr that bored and rich and famous just start your own ugly clothing line instead of indulging in yr klepto tendencies!

7. "They're full of themselves": Oriental Radio
"They're not funny," and "They're so full of themselves and not funny" are the accusations at hand. I know absolutely nothing about manzai and manzai standards, maybe my comedy friends can pop in and give their 2 cents on this issue.

6. "Not funny part 2": Sakurazuka Yakkun
Another victim of the "how much is too much?" question. Again, I'm no comedy expert but the Japanese comedy scene is extremely hit and miss and from my experience watching late night comedy shows I'd say it's leaning more towards the "miss" - no pun intended. His wiki article says "Yasuo and his management are keeping private any of his career before crossdressing as a schoolgirl" which makes me lol because we all know the truth: he was a Johnnys Jr dropout.

5. "Going way past common sense": Ayumi Hamasaki
"It's disgusting how different her face is now than it was back when she was an idol," "'Tired' describes both her face and her songs," and "She looks like Michael Jackson."
LOLOLOLoLOL. I just want to know why she isn't higher up on the list.

4. "Morning Musume. Period."
"They're already past their prime but they still appear on TV and release songs," and "Stop being on Kouhaku."
I have nothing against HelloPro unlike the swarms of JE fans who will immediately start putting anthrax into envelopes at the mention of them, but Morning Musume is so old meme. Even Tsunku is basically peacing out with his revival of his own musical career.

3. Hosoki Kazuko.
Yeah, I don't know either. She's apparently a TV psychic who got a lot of **** for actually not being psychic. Oops.

2. Sawajiri Erika.
"Even though she's just some kid, she talks like she knows everything," "She's stuck up", and "She's a *****" are what people are saying, but you already knew that.

and #1 is...

KODA KUMI.
"She's tacky," "She's the shame of Kyoto" "She says she's good at singing but she's not," "Grody" "Bad Influence"
We have already talked about why we love Koda Kumi more than enough times already.
I do wonder about how bad Ayu's rep is in Japan... is it noticable? :\

wow reading this article was interesting - well it's only some people who hate Ayu and Ku while the rest of Japan loves them - I wasn't suprised by Sawajiri Erika being 2nd she hasn't got a good reputation

What I worry about when I see these comments about Ayu is my own vision and common sense. YES, her image has changed a lot, but her face hasen't. Her body hasen't. Her chest is still the same size. Her eyes are the same. Hert body might look a little more womanly, but that's natural.

Am I missing something important? O.o

OMG... "Tired face" and such, and even more so "Tired songs"! Ayu is absolutely gorgeous and everyone here in America thinks so. I think the Japanese have a diff perspective since they knew her and what she looked like to begin with but she is no where near as bad as Jacko. I was really dissapointed until I got to the top and that just made me feel better, lol...

LOL @ people still defending.

I think that Japanese citizens know more about her than any wannabe.

Its like us talking about Britney and a person from the South Pole trying to defend her not wearing underwear.

BIAS is a beautiful thing .. iddnit

Yeah, whatever, I still like everyone etc etc.

Even though I have never in my life heard a Morning Musume song, I can somewhat agree, because sales compared to their prime are very low and that can't be 100% blamed on lower sales in general.

I still want everyone to get along. (although if you have many lovers then you're sure to have just as many haters)

When I was in Japan, I definitely got the sense that young people were not too keen on Ayu. It bummed me out, but then I went to her concert where everyone adored her, and it made me feel better.

People just love to have opinions about celebrities. It would probably be better for your blood pressure if you didn't worry about it too much.

hikari// It's quite logical that people in japan are tired of her and think her music is mostly the same (something which I can agree upon), but when it comes to plastic surgury, and this is true for a lot of western celebrities too, it's like someone has to have it because they are famous. And that makes no sense at all, and as long as I can't spot any evidence I think such accusations are pretty dumb. No matter who it is.

"voted for their top ten celebs that they wish would dissapear off the face of the earth."

I think that's a bit too harsh. >
-----------

But I think that this article is based on few people. Otherwise, Kuu and Ayu wouldn't be dominating the music charts
and have people scream their names out of joy everytime they appear on tv shows.

Everyone has opinions, and so do these people. I've known that always the most popular people in even America, are the ones who are most hated as well, and this could be the case even in Japan.

You shouldn't really trust this article (is it even an article?) as representing what the Japanese people think about Ayu. Maybe this Tantai File is just the equivalent of a supermarket gossip rag.

Voice of reason, fo sho. Just a while ago, my mom and I were talking about how the Japanese are about as guilty for loving American celebrities for their foreign allure as weeaboos are for squealing about their favorite Japanese idols. Even a celebutard like Paris Hilton is less a laughably stupid heiress, and more of a cute fashion icon in Japan.

It really makes me wonder how our image of Ayu may be estranged from the perspective of a Japanese citizen on her. Nothing can make me dislike her, but having gathered a lot of testimony from Japanese youths temporarily visiting the US, I've heard that she's bizarre, trying to be too white and Western for their tastes, and they all agree that she's had plastic surgery. I'm not here to argue any of these points, but it's pretty obvious to me that a foreigner's and a native's perception are quite disparate, ours being more positive yet perhaps less informed.

Then again, we fans may be the more accurate ones since we actively seek information about Miss Hamasaki (even if most of us tend to selectively filter out the less savory details and rumors)

I don't think they mean 'tired' literally. I think they're saying that her look is tired; they're ready for something fresh and new and not Ayumi. Let's face it, she's just about tried every combination of clothes, makeup, hair color, hairstyle and yadda yadda yadda. Nothing she does in the future could really phase them anymore.

Even though different areas may have different perspectives on certain celebrities, like someone else said above people in Japan may adore Britney Spears whereas Americans ridicule her.

I love the Koda Kumi comments though....haha. As much as I don't want to admit the ones about Ayu, she has been in the industry for almost 10 years now, and has been over-exposed during her peak and is fastly approaching 30 years old which is considered old for a celebrity, so =T...

I'm pretty amused by the comments of this site. I still like Ayu but I'm used to always reading about people singing praises about her. It's kinda interesting to hear people say that they don't like her.
