I'm so happy Ayu new music isn't coming till February: this way she'll have all the time to work on everything perfectly! I'm so glad my prayers for her to wait till next year were answered.

I am expecting some of these new songs to debut at CDL.

And I have been looping LOVE again like crazy. It's totally a grower. I wasn't so sure about it at first though.

Yeah, CDL planning has probably started since earlier this month. I wonder what the subtitle will be! Maybe ~Pray~ or ~Night&Day~?

Currently occupied with Ivy, Love song and Sweet Season. Ayu really is the greatest lyricist...

Just read about her upcoming movie tie-in. Pray is going to be another great ballad. Long live the ballad queen!

how beautiful you are was pretty great imo along with Sweet scar. I don't think she's ever really made a 'bad' ballad. I'm also not really sure if she's made all that many in the last few years even though she's had a lot of "medium" ballads.

Well I think that the fact that she has more of them simply just, reduces the ability of them to be EPIC.

I mean, like with Memorial Address or MY STORY, I am..., you have all these other songs, and then you have your couple of ballads, and then they're also, different types of ballads.

On MA you have No Way to Say, which is really, like Japanese type ballad, and then you have forgiveness which is really mellow and slow, not the same type of arrangement at all.



But I just can't deal with the arrangements she pulls out for these medium ballads. Some of them are interesting and okay, but some you can just interchange, and there's too many that are interchangeable.

I think she just needs to have Yukumi to produce one for her, but he's been MIA for a while so we've been stuck in a sea of mostly medium. Yukumi seemed to do most of the ones you remember as 'epic'.

Pray seems like it could be a grand ballad. If not, I really hope we get at least one on the next full album.

She sure as he'll hasn't made very many "epic" ones, with choruses that explode on impact, a la no way to say, moments, etc. For me, how beautiful you are was atrocious. I cannot get into that "you don't know, you don't knoooooww, how bEAUtiFUL you ARE!!!" It wasn't for me. Sweet scar I was also not keen on from the start. Now, it's a decent mellow listen. But, I'm sick of those. I want an EPIC, GRAND ballad as mentioned. Something sweet and melodic during the verses, that packs a wicked punch upon hook.

I agree with emi and Zeke, her latest ballads are not Grand enough as she used to have.
I do hope Pray can be grand, maybe because it's for BUDDHA it can incorporate ethnic elements in it

Maybe she just felt done with that sort of sound for a while? I mean, she could probably pull out a ballad whenever she wanted. IIRC, there was a Kikuchi track he gave to her as a gift that she still hasn't used so it's not like the options are not there.

I have to rant.

I'm just so frustrated with her. I don't understand how you can release something so off the mark. So unfeeling.

How can you have a song about feeling love, and have such a stupid, ugly, plain chorus. And an EDM song. Where the chorus is um, idk, EVERYTHING.

How can you have those beautiful keys in the back, matched up with those pretty vocals in the verses, and try to mix it with an arrangement that is not uplifting, not sparkly, very plain and very generic.

It's like she has no relationship with this song. The gorgeous possibilities at the beginning, and with the verses, and its just so generic at the most important parts.

How can you feel good, like you want to feel the love and like you want to dance with a melody that does nothing except repeat?

I just don't understand how she could actually feel anything singing that song.


It IS possible to have generic edm, and have it have *soul* and *feeling*. It doesn't even have to be a perfect song.

Whatever. I'm happy that she ayu-fied the song. I'm unhappy that she made a shitty song. But I guess if she likes it, that's what's...most important...

idk when I'm going to stop caring. I guess I was hoping that she was still a better artist than this.

I would die if Ayu ever recorded a song that sounded like Stardust In My Eyes <3 but I agree with you. Chorus could have gone places for Feel the love but it's just absolutely awful. Verses and instrumentation are gorgeous though.

IMO, Feel the love is meant to cater to fans that liked You & Me since that was her biggest hit last year. It's intended to be fun and it really succeeds at this. I could see people playing this during some parties for the New Year or maybe even Xmas!
