How can a promotion tool backfire when sales increased? Unless sales have decreased, it either didn't help the artist as much or it helped the artist a lot.

I really think HMV Japan and CDJapan only count for Oricon if you're in Japan. Oricon tracks JAPANESE sales, the same way Billboard tracks AMERICAN sales. If you're in Brazil and buy from Amazon, your sales won't count to Billboard just because Amazon is an American website, so obviously sales won't count for Oricon unless you buy it from Japan, it doesn't mater if the website is Japanese or not. I mean, Oricon doesn't track sales of Jpop artists around the world, the objective is to count sales in Japan and that's it, so if they're counting sales from other countries it takes away the whole purpose and I really think Oricon isn't that dumb. So don't get your hopes up that your order will count in Oricon because it probably won't.

It's not but artists and the companies get the money and support and that's what important.

Yup. And the movie distributor were using Ayu as the main promotional tool in Japan and when the movie was a huge flop the Japanese media blamed Ayu, but this don't make any sense, does it? Besides, I think the movie flopped in China anyway.

Sales started to really raise and shoot at the day this drama was aired and hikki's divorce message together, both or the drama gave FoL its high sales, without the tie in it would sell like boku wa kuma^_^.

Well, Ai Otsuka's Planetarium was the insert song in Hana Yori Dango 1 and it didn't sold nearly as much (and HYD1 was almost as successful as HYD2). And it doesn't matter if it was thanks to the tie-in or not because, in the end, her popularity skyrocketted anyway.

It will sell around Startin'/Born To Be... sales.

Yeah, but if you buy from YesAsia they'll get the money and support too. I said that because people buy from CDJapan and other Japanese sites thinking it'll count in Oricon.

Sometimes I wonder why people don't like nowdays Ayu? Total Sales will depend on how much time single will be in ORICON chart (also interesting to know official AVEX sales).
