Kis-My-Ft2′ Tamamori Yuta to star in a live-action drama adaptation of “Pintokona”

On May 16th, it was announced that Kis-My-Ft2 member Tamamori Yuta will star in TBS’ upcoming drama “Pintokona” as the son of a noble Kabuki family. This will mark the first serial drama to feature the world of Kabuki, a Japanese traditional performing art.

“Pintokona” is a live-action drama adaptation of Shimaki Ako’s ongoing manga, which is being serialized on monthly Shoujo manga magazine “Cheese!” (Shogakukan).

Tamamori will play the protagonist named “Kawamura Kyonosuke”, who is born into a noble Kabuki family Kijima-ya. Tamamori said, “It’s such an honor to be able to play the world of Kabuki that has a long history of 400 years, in a drama.” After actually viewing a Kabuki play, he left the comment, “They had the power and presence beyond description. Now I’m even more interested in Kabuki, and I want to challenge on all kinds of things.”

Reportedly, Tamamori has begun practicing to play the role of a Kabuki actor. “I realized in person that it cannot be mastered in a day, as I have to use the muscle I usually don’t use, and have to be concerned about each of my actions,” he said.

One of the main cast members is NYC’s Nakayama Yuma. He will play “Sawayama Ichiya”. Though Ichiya is from a family with no relation to Kabuki, he still tries hard to aim high in the world of Kabuki using his own ability. Nakayama commented, “By learning about Kabuki, I hope I can come to know more about Japanese traditional performing art, as well as the pride of Japan.” As Nakayama is currently practicing for “Oyama” (male actor playing female roles in Kabuki), he jokingly said, “Since I’m consciously acting womanly in the way I walk or sit, I’m worried if I will be able to return to how I used to be after the filming ends.”

The heroine of the drama “Chiba Ayame” will be taken on by Kawashima Umika. She will be involved in the love triangle between those Kabuki actors. “I was amazed at Tamamori-san and Nakayama-san when they dressed in the costume with the Kabuki make-up. I can’t wait to see their Kabuki scenes in the drama,” Kawashima said.

Other cast members include Johnny’s Jr’ Matsumura Hokuto (as “Sawayama Shohei” who burns with jealousy toward Ichiya), and Jesse (as “Sakamoto Haruhiko”, the best friend of Kyonosuke), as well as Yamamoto Koji, Takashima Masahiro, Enoki Takaaki, Enami Kyoko, and Kishitani Goro. There is also a plan for real Kabuki actors to appear in the drama.

“Pintokona” is scheduled to begin airing in July.

Kis-My-Ft2's new song chosen as the theme song for Tamamori Yuta's starring drama

It was announced that popular group Kis-My-Ft2's new song "Kimi to no Kiseki" has been chosen as the theme song for member Tamamori Yuta's starring drama "Pintokona", which will begin airing in July on TBS.

Ichikawa Yoshiyasu, Mashiko Tatsuro, and ha-j teamed up for its lyrics and music, and apparently, it took the longest time to complete, compared to any other Kis-My-Ft2 songs.

Tamamori commented, "It's a love song comprised of heart wrenching lyrics that you keep loving your loved one earnestly, and a summer-like melody. This may be the most straightforward song in Kisumai history. We sang it with all our hearts to make it the 'Kiseki (=miracle) song' that could help with the success of love for people listening to the song. Please check out the theme song along with the drama itself!"

Although the release date for the song has not been set at this moment, the group will perform the song on TBS' special music program "Ongaku no Hi" (to be aired on the 29th).

Kis-My-Ft2 to release new single in August

Kis-My-Ft2 will be releasing their new single, "Kimi to no Kiseki", on August 14th.

The title track was written as the theme song for member Tamamori Yuta's starring drama, 'Pintokona'. It was made with the theme "being with an important person is the greatest moment and best happiness," and it's described as a medium-tempo number that will make your heart flutter.

The single will be available for purchase in 3 different versions: Limited Edition A, Limited Edition B, and Regular Edition. All versions will include a new song called "Tanagokoro" as the coupling track.

Kis-My-Ft2 will also provide their new song "Luv Sick" as the theme song for member Fujigaya Taisuke's starring drama, 'Kamen Teacher'.

Kisumai’s new song to be used as theme song of Tamamori Yuta’s upcoming drama

On June 13th was revealed that Kis-My-Ft2 will be in charge of the theme song of "Pin to Kona" (Thursdays 9pm) with Tamamori Yuta (23) as protagonist, with their upcoming single "Kimi to no Kiseki" (August 14th). Tamamori was delighted with the news, "Though it's already an honor to be starring in a drama series based on the traditional Kabuki, I really appreciate that Kisumai is in charge of the theme song", he commented.

The production of this song started in spring and it's based on the keywords; "Painful unrequited love", "Teen pure love" and "Miracle encounters". With the theme, "True happiness lies in the best moments you spend together with the important people in your life". The label and the staff production of the drama has worked together a lot of times so they completed it just on time. Officials commented, "It's the first time for Kisumai to create such time-consuming song. Rather than the upbeat sound we're used to listen, it's a medium beat song in order to express better the lyrics".

The songwriting luxury team includes popular writers. Ichikawa Yoshiyasu who has worked with SMAP in "Triangle" and "Orange", with Hitoto Yo in "Hanamizuki" and also EXILE. Mashiko Tatsuro who has worked with Kanjani8 and 3 other writers who have created songs for Arashi and KAT-TUN. Tamamori commented, "The lyrics reflect the feeling of wanting to keep the important people for you by your side, it's refreshing to have a love song with a good melody in the summer. I think this is the first time Kisumai has such straight forward song. I think it will touch the hearts of people who are in love and will become a "Miracle Song" because we sing it heartily, please also check the drama!".

Kisumai has already released 7 singles, two of them have been used as theme songs of dramas starred by Tamamori, "Everybody Go" (August 2011) and "My Resistance -タシカナモノ-" (February 2013), they have sold more than 300,000 units on their first week and this release is also expected to accomplish the same. The song was performed in TBS "Ongaku no Hi" on June 29th for the first time.

Kis-my-ft2 to appear in this year's Kohaku

Last year, there were five Johnny's groups performing at Kohaku: SMAP, Arashi, Tokio, Kanjani8 and NYC. But this year, it'll be only four groups to perform: SMAP, TOKIO, Arashi and Kis-my-ft2. It is said that for some time now, Kis-my-ft2 has received the favors of SMAP manger, Ms Michi Ijima to co-star and to perform alongside with SMAP which has lead to Kis-my-ft2's rapid growth in popularity with appearances in many CMs and dramas.

For this year's Kohaku, NHK wants SMAP Nakai Masahiro to be the host again. And Iijima with her great influence on TV stations, bartered to have Kis-my-ft2 appearing with SMAP on the show.

As for the open performance on Kohaku, NHK will fill it with a K-pop group maybe SNSD or Tohoshinki.

Kis-My-Ft2 Joins The 64th Kohaku Uta Gassen; Plans For This Year's Event Revealed!

Kis-My-Ft2 is going to appear in the annual New Year's Eve music show Kohaku Uta Gassen this year. The boy group has been given frequent projects such as CM endorsements and TV dramas this 2013, which placed them a slot in the NHK program alongside fellow Johnny's group, SMAP, Tokio, and Arashi.

NHK also announced their request of making SMAP's Masahiro Nakai as the host for the 64th Kohaku, making it his 7th time to do so for the music event if he will. He is actually the only artist who holds the most number of hosting stint for the program.
