Yeah, it seems Ayu's birthday this year on AHS seems...quiet.

We really miss those good old days of Ayu... (but then again, I came pretty late, like, say, four years after Ayu's peak in 2002, I just joined the Ayu bandwagon in the end of 2006)

2016 was literally one of her most packed years ever and she has had to deal with her ear stuff in 2017 along with knee problems/surgery. AND SHE'S STILL TOURING A CRAPTON. I do think a release is coming though very soon.

yeah Imma need her to take her time and come with quality like WORDS. she's been through a lot lately and she's touring! and I always feel like when she takes a bigger break than the usual, people start missing her. I've been seeing a lot of people thirsty for new music.

also this year I felt people kind of reconnected with her. at least the western j-pop fanbase, which I'm seeing always talking kindly about her legacy and work, also raving about a-nation recently which is pretty awesome for me.

Sometimes I'm listening to a song and wonder how would Ayu perform this? Since I've been listening to more rock and metal as of late, my imaginary Ayu performance is epic. I wish she would embrace her inner rockstar more.

She knocked a-nation out of the park. Maybe the outfits were a little off but everything else was as close to perfect as can be.

^ ARENA '09 really included every track out of the NEXT LEVEL album

(also this is the only tour which included a whole album)

People keep bringing over and over again that Ayu turned out into shit as a performer on those past years because the keeps performing the same songs over and over again, so, I'm super busy and my brain needed a reason to procrastinate, and I took a look at the setlist of every tour she had during her 2nd decade. I didn't look up into CDLs, A-Nations, TA Tours or random festivals and lives, because I was too lazy to do that and nowadays the tours are where most people will se her performing anyway.

She performed a total of 130 unique songs without counting interludes, what means an average of 16 unique songs per tour, almost a whole concert the size she would perform on her first 10 years.

Per tour, without counting interludes (and ignoring most old tracks from PoM were completely rearranged). I'm also not counting "non classic" tracks that are overplayed but aren't released on the past 10 years (like BoY, mnW, STEP you, etc)

What conclusion I take from that? That aside from evolution, SURREAL and Boys & Girls she is always trying to favor "recent" staples over older ones. That ABL aside, +- 3/4 of her tracklists consists of either very recent songs or underperformed older tracks.

BTW, it's very clear she is performing less and less tracks from the same year, but she is also releasing less and less tracks every year, so...

^Shouldn't the list include everything Including countdown lives and even tv performances?? Otherwise that list isn't really accurate. But, it's nice of you to make one, I surely have no time to. Lol

This. CDL/TA is where Ayu pulls out some really forgotten and absence loved songs.

Most people aren't really watching her CDLs, as they have fewer dates anyway. The number of total tracks would go up, the average would go down as Ayu is using CDL as a preview for the tour for a decade now), but I'm not really in the mood for looking through the internet for some setlists, as they aren't on Wikipedia or Generasia.

I also don't really get why some people expect her to perform GUILTY or something like that out of the blue on Music Station or something. It kinda happened to Life, but needed a natural + nuclear disaster of huge proportions for that to happen

... anyways, i'm really late, watching cdl 16-17 just now. I'm really enjoying her performance, even though she's struggling with her voice. Maybe i'm really biased but watching her now i'm feeling the same energy i felt eight years ago when i first saw her performing (not live, via watching youtube videos). and i don't mind her dancers, when she's singing i'm looking at her.
