there are many teenagers that really love Tinkerbell, and are really looking forward to the movie too, as weird as it could sound. It's a movie for children in America, but many people especially girls who are gyals, really really love tinkerbell, and will go to watch the movie about it.

anyways, they said that you were... is the song of the image of the movie, so I think it will be in new trailers and such. we should get the trailers soon.

It's quite sad that the only tie-ins that are considered major seem to be the ones featuring JE people. Nevertheless if this is the best AVEX could do I am not going to assume the promotion is going to fail completely. Ayu has proved she doesn't need tie-ins to sell well, so as I previously said no matter how miserable the tie-ins might be, they can only help and add some extra exposure to the songs, which is what they actually need.

^ There are plenty of non-JE people that get major tie ins too. And a lot of the people that do have major tie ins, don't necessarily need them to sell well either, but they do need them to sell like stratospherically high though. Like B'z didn't exactly need Buzzer Beat for Ichibu to Zenbu to sell well; it would have anyways. But having a successful drama tied with it made it sell even better. Same thing with Ayu probably. Everything else I agree with though. Still though, Ayu having a major tie in for once would be nice. Dandy Daddy though not a huge hit drama was at least a step in that direction. It didn't seem to have a positive effect on her physical sales though maybe it is what helped drive the digital sales.

No no no, you got it wrong, I meant that it seems that major tie-ins are usually (and mostly) the dramas featuring the JE people (and I mean no disrespect)

Considering that B'z's 2008 singles couldn't clear 200k either and that their last album barely sold 320k, I'd say yes the song needed a tie-in, else I really doubt it would sell close to the amounts it did. Sure I'd like seeing Ayu get a tie-in like that someday

I used B'z as an example because you said Ayu didn't need a tie in to sell well. B'z single sales last year are comprable to Ayu's - in fact they only had one single last year and it just barely outsold Ayu's last year. So if Ayu's non tied in drama singles are considered selling well enough, then B'z sales as well should also be considered selling well enough is what I mean. But just like many artists that don't need a tie in to sell well, the tie in - if good - can make it sell a lot more. Don't know if how I just explained it made any sense though.

Yes I know and that was exactly what I was trying to say. They didn't sell just well with a tie-in, but extraordinary well :p - considering they were selling as much as Ayu in 2008 I wasn't trying to imply B'z wasn't selling well without tie-ins if thats what you meant

Both A-sides for B'z's Ichibu to Zenbu / DIVE single had really strong tie in's which contributed to the extraordinary sales which it obtained despite the fact that it was only sold in 1 edition

like Ichibu to Zenbu was used to promote Buzzer Beat while for DIVE , it was used to promote Suzuki's Swift compact car

MY LONELY TOWN was released in 2 editions but it's struggling to cross the 250K mark D:

maybe avex should ask Vermillion Records for advise to get better tie in's for ayumi

^ Yeah, yeah that's what I meant. I interpreted your post as meaning that B'z sales were only good with tie ins.

Hmm... true but I think it's better than her Panasonic tie-ins. At least her team seems to be focusing on new tie-ins, which is always a start.

^ I would say Panasonic is much better because whether or not someone likes Ayumi or cares about Panasonic, they are still going to be seeing the commercial at some point anyways. The song reaches a much wider audience if it is in a commercial.

I agree though that it is good to try out new promotions and see what happens.

Yes but well... I think she has had Panasonic for so long that it has gotten a bit boring. I enjoy them a lot but... hmm... maybe they've become too much of an expected thing.

And I think it's a good idea to expose her music to a different demographic I don't expect anything super dramatic but it would be interesting to see what will happen.

We don't know yet. FNS site is adding artists one by one. Tohoshinki were added this morning for example. I think Ayu will be announced soon, just check the site from time to time XD

After seeing some people at 2ch mention it, I wonder if they'll switch out the "Christmas card" extra for those who purchase it at mu-mo, since the switch to the 29th makes it completely useless, haha. Perhaps it's proof that there was no intention on moving the single to a later date... but then again, they could make it into a New Year's card or something, right?

yeah, but that's only for us living in the Orthodox Christian countries, it's in December for the rest of the world and I doubt AVEX cares

^ Yeah, that is pretty much further proof. I didn't know about the Christmas card thing; that would have been cool.

^ No. Totally different. There are several end of the year shows in Japan. FNS is one of the major ones.
