Rule/Sparkle was one of the best singles of the year and for me Sparkle was the best songs of 2009. =D

Okay, so it's just a select-few-on-AHS thing..? (Like Days? XP) 'Cause I always heard good about it (the actual movie got criticism, but not the single, hah), and I think both songs are AMAZING. Like, definitely one of the best singles in years, for me. >___>

Well I think that people might have meant more that it was released a month before the album and the lead song Rule, besides the crappy movie tie-in was a rock song that isn't as mainstream as summer songs or ballads and sometimes not that mainstream at all (look at talkin' 2 myself single) but it still sold well.

Sunrise ~LOVE is ALL~ was a bigger hit though.

What do you mean everyone hates it so much?? Even most of the people at JPM were praising it when it came out and they're very hard to please.

Right, its not that people dislike the Rule single, its that it sold more than many thought that it would considering the single was released after the album was announced and it was known that both songs would be on the album.

honestly, i think specific criticism ends up being considered for the whole thing. i remember a lot of people liked rule and sparkle, even before that they had liked talkin' 2 myself, even glitter too. but then some had issues with the covers, or the additional songs on the single (fated orchestra ftl!!) but then when we look back it seems like it was a mob against the single? LOL well that's what i think it is, because she hasn't really released ANYTHING in my opinion that has been "THIS IS TERRIBLE. STOP SINGING." kind of thing lol

Honestly, I have to say that Sunrise was a pretty awesome track. It's much too bad that on the level of covers/music videos/lives, the single didn't succeed. But song-wise, it was amazing! I love the different iterations that people make... it makes me wonder where else the song could've gone! Then again, they DO have like 3 different live arrangements for Sunrise. I don't get why they keep changing it, haha. Kind of makes me wonder if Hana Nishimura will pop up again on the album tracks.
