Kyo from Dir en grey's English is in a rank all on its own that I've decided to call it Kyogrish.

In all seriousness, I don't... like Engrish that much. I find it unnecessary for an artist to do it unless it's clearly their choice to have the song be in English/half in English. However, I feel like most artists do it only because it's "cool" to do or its some kind of accepted/expected task an artist of certain genres must do. I find that unnatural, though, and most of the time song is even better and more beautiful in the original language of its creation.

A great example of this is fra-foa's "Aojiroi Tsuki" / "Cradle Moon." The original Japanese is unspeakably beautiful and haunting - it gives me chills anytime I listen to it and it doesn't matter if it's in a language I don't immediately understand: I don't have to understand what she's saying to understand how she says it. But when I listen to "Cradle Moon" I can't help but feel like she's trying to cram something unnatural into the English portrayal of it.

I usually let poor English slide, especially in Asian musicians' songs, because of how difficult it is to grasp the nuances of one language that's so drastically different from your own, but most of the time I end up wishing they'd just leave it out all together.

I love it. Where else am I suppose to get my lulz?

But seriously, it's cool that they try and speak another language, even if they're not really good at it.

I like it. It's funny to hear some of them saying things like "I'm goin' andaa for you", like Kuu does in Under song. And Ayu pronounces english actually quite well, but reason for that could be the fact that she has used it a bit more than Kuu for example. But anyways, engrish is funny. :3

Well it depends, on who sings it where and how it's placed in the song and if the fits with it, if it kinda awkward then no I wouldn't like it but in some case I think its kind of cute how the put engrish in the songs, like Ayu's RAINBOW for example in which she ended the song with No rain can't get the Rainbow (I'm not sure about you but I feel the sentence isn't really complete the way it is) which i would consider as engrish however I feel that it fits in the song if she was to rephrase it, it just wouldn't be the same or have the same effect.

It all really depends on how engrish is used, however I really don't like full engrish(as in most of the song isn't understandable) or if the singer can't pronounce it at all (meaning I'm looking at the lyrics and listen to the song but I can't seem to see how it matches up... ). However there are some artists that have songs in English, yes English not Engrish. I mean there are songs that if you look at the lyrics they are technically good english in most sense (hey, I'm from the US and my english still sucks).

Umm what do you mean you can't understand HYDE's engrish? I think most of his songs have pretty good and can be consider English (if you look at the lyrics they make sense well they do to me...) are you talking about his solo work or L'Arc~en~Ciel songs? I can understand how some of their earlier work have bad engrish (for example good morning hide, however thats an old song (1996) and I think its pretty good for that time I don't think there was much engrish used yet at that time that I know of) but their newer songs aren't that bad.

This is all my opinion so don't kill me...

Engrish ruins songs for me. If it's soft and can't be heard clearly, it's not a problem, but if someone's loudly singing in Engrish, I switch songs. Just a habit.

It really just depends on who is singing.

Some are better at pronouncing English words than others. Some are painful to listen to. I think Ay does a pretty god job mostly. Namie too... I can't think of anyone right now who is horrible.
