it means she's standing near (probablly behind) the person she loves, staring, being dazzeled and thinking really hard; and "when the wind changes, shall i tell my feelings?" means when something happenes, or when the time for it comes, shall she confess her feelings to that person. i had no problems with the translation, i understand what she is saying. but then again i don't know japanese, so maybe that's what's confusing you... anyways, i can't wait to hear the full song and see the PV!!!!!!! and chocopockymaster thank you soooo much for the translation, it's awesome!!!!!!!!

I don't see how it's a strange choice of words. One should never doubt Ayu as a lyricist Haha! It's actually very difficult to come up with one true translation of any of her songs because she really knows how to use the Japanese language. So much is lost in translation.

光輝いて凛とした木々達が
身を隠すように色を消していく 希望へ繋がる何もかもを遠ざけて 温もりをこわがる私のように The trees that are frigid and have splendor (something like, that are solitary and stand tall, and beautiful) Keep erasing the color like they are hiding my body. They keep away anything related to hope, Just like I'm afraid of the warmth. 触れた指の先から 想いが溢れだしそうになったあの瞬間から この恋に気付きました From the moment it came to seem like The thoughts were beginning to flow from the fingertips that came into contact, This love was realized. どうして人は心のままに従い 歩いていくのが難しいのだろう 本当はきっとずっと理解ってたはずなのにね 現実に目を背けた 真実を否定してた Why is it hard for people To live true to the way their heart is? The truth is, despite the fact that I was supposed to understand/solve that logic, In reality I turned my eyes. I was denying the truth. 見つめるその先には愛しいあの人の姿 風が変わる頃にはこの想い伝えようか Before I lay my eyes on the figure of that one who is precious, How do I transmit this thoughts during the time the wind changes? I had to use my electro-dictionary to look up some of those words, cause no idea how to say it in english, so if it's a little weird or so... sorry sorry. I tried my best to tsutaeru. w~ Yeah, to me the chorus so sad, because it seems, like, she is saying that she recognized this love, but something happened and she got hurt or so.. And now she doesnt wanna to be related to those happy feelings. Yeah, it seems like who she is talking to is far far away, Cause she is hoping that the wind will carry her thoughts to that person, Before she can see that person.. And she did say she is scared of warmth, so I feel she is scared to see this person. The title "GREEN" really fits now.. It's all about how her surroundings is changing due to her. EDIT: ahh.. I'm an idiot~ I didn't see the other translation before.. I'm sorry... -_-); You can use some of my ideas, and just add onto that one... Uuu.. I feel rude now~ sorry. maikaru, don't feel bad at all - multiple translations of anything, ESPECIALLY lyrics, should always be valued - it's always helpful to hear other interpretations of the same lyrics.

I wonder if there might be more lyrics. In the clip we already have the instrumental part after the first verse is quite long. Which is kind of unusual, assuming that it would lead to the chorus (but not impossible, of course). Maybe there are more verses or a pre-chorus, which weren't released so far?
Well, we have to wait for the full version to know this. Hopefully there will be more lyrics, because I really like the tree imagery, so I'd love to see more of it.

Almost 100% of ayu's are "three piece" with verse bridge chorus in that order, this is probably the same, I agree it may be more like part of me an tog. instad of it's on "section" like MY ALL or heaven. But who knows. In any case we are lacking some lyrics.

? Most of Ayu's songs aren't three piece..? I don't know any song that is verse bridge chorus. They're mostly verse chorus verse chorus bridge chorus, and both Together When, part of Me and to an extent MY ALL are like that. |

Hmm.. I think *Petit* means like.. what the Japanese would call A melo, B melo, and sabi (chorus).
A lot of her songs do follow this pattern.. Like momentum, MY ALL, part of Me, Together When..., etc. There's a melody that starts off the verse which is the A melo and then it leads into the other section of the verse, the B melo. Like in MY ALL for example, the start of the B melo would be "tanoshii koto ureshii koto~". Well, I could be completely wrong. But I think that's how the system works.. What we call a bridge would usually be a C melo or D melo, I think. judging from the lyrics and what we've heard so far, GREEN only has an A melo and a sabi.. I was wondering though, in the clips that we've heard so far.. does the chorus directly follow the instrumental piece after the first verse? because it could be like something she does in songs like 'Will'.. A melo > instrumental break > A melo > B melo > sabi.. -totally confused about the structure of this song- |

Yes you are right, it's confusing with all the different technical terms and it's not used consistently I guess in all languags. to melrose: If you split them up into vrse / bridge / chorus (Or A/B/C), they are , of cours if you consider bridge/ verse one piece, they aren't. MY ALL is a great example because the harmonies change and the melody change distinctly in the three different pieces. 1 st piece playing is actually the chorus instrumental, lyrics (allthough absent in intro) "anata ni yume wo , then the verse is repeated twice starting with the lyrics "ittai mou dorekurai jikan no " and ending with "kagayaki hanatte iru". THe bridge sets off from lyrics "tanoshii koto" and ends with "hitori janakatta kara". Then the chorus with lyrics commences "anata ni yume o misetai " ending with "mamori tsuzukete ikimasu". then the entire process is repeated again from the instrumental to the chorus. Most of her songs are this way and it doesen't really matter if you break it down to one two or three pieces, it's the same thing. However I prefer this method as songs sometimes repeat different parts in different orders and some are sometimes skipped. Great examples from ayu's discography are SURREAL and M. Also some songs haver fewer parts, many modern western pop songs have only two really. Last edited by *Petit*; 31st October 2008 at 09:03 PM. |
