after doing the top 28 songs for ayu's birthday thing i can say that the most underrated songs were...

Nothing from Nothing
Limit
Gut-it-Pez
Paper Doll
FRIEND
Wishing

because none of those songs got a single vote

There probably is a reason as to why they're 'underrated..'~

I always thought underrated was something where an object that deserves praise, doesn't get it.. :/
Perhaps underrated is also ... plain terrible? I don't think so.. hm..

It's not "the better" one, it's "OMFG THE FRICKIN BESTEST" one. I love the song so darn much. Best Ayu song possibly.

rainy day's really really good, but a lot of people are turned off by it I guess..

IMO rainy day is a 'sequel' to HANABI kinda..

^i don't really think rainy day turns people off, its one of those songs that most people like but its maybe not in their top 10 so people dont' want to talk about how much they like it. Compare it to GAME which seems to be a really hot song but in my little ranking thing GAME was rated #18 and rainy day #19, I don't think anyone expected those to be so close.

I don't think the ranking thing is as much of an indicator as the 'TOP SONG' poll.. that usually has M on top LOL

I guess I meant people who sort of just.. have a THING against the song.. like.. people who just DON'T LIKE IT... :X

^ True. Polls aren't 100% accurate, questionnaires are. Polls dont let you grade the songs accordingly or rank them. x__x

For me, Rainy Day has been on my #1 ever since I got (miss)understood.

how so? still alone is VERY popular and Startin' seemed to be in the middle (it's in my top songs list though :3)

I'm comparing them to her greatest hits. I have not heard that much about Still alone and I think it is an absolutely magnificant song, as for startin' I consider it under rated as it only sold just over 188,000 copies.

In more ways than that, Startin' is VERY VERY underrated.

If you ask the majority of AHS, they might probably say they are displeased with the 2006 singles so far.. :<

rainy day is hands down Ayu's best song in my opinion, it's just flawless. I always thought the song was pretty well-recieved so I didn't mention it, but now that I've gone through the thread I definitly would agree with you that it qualifies as being underated.

I agree, I've always thought of rainy day as the spiritual successor to HANABI and HANABI ~episode II~. Kind of a balance between the two, not quite as soft as HANABI but not as hard as HANABI ~episode II~. Very emotional but in a more reserved way.
