Which Album Would You Change And How?

So last night this idea for a thread came to mind when I was listening to Duty and realized that I really wish ever free had been on it as the last track. So my question to you is: if you could pick one Ayu album and change it as little or as drastically as possible, how would you? You can't make up songs, but you can remove tracks, add tracks, even change the cover or album title (just specify what the original name was). Here's mine:

I chose NEXT LEVEL because I feel like it had so much potential, but fell flat, mainly because there wasn't much consistency. The electronic songs are really good, and work well with the image of the album, but songs like NEXT LEVEL, the original versions of GREEN and Days, and Curtain call, just don't fit with that at all imo. Disco-munication was where NEXT LEVEL really got good for me, so I figured it'd be a great way to start. I think removing NEXT LEVEL (since I think it's just a boring song) and Curtain call (because it just doesn't fit), and changing the original versions of some of the songs to much more electronic-styled remixes makes the album more cohesive and a much more solid effort in the end.

I'm interested to see the changes you guys would make, and to what albums

I like this. Very good suggestions for NEXT LEVEL. I thought the album could have been more consistent too, but I think I would have wanted more Days/GREEN style songs than anything else.

For me, I would change GUILTY.

I wouldn't change anything about the track-listing, but I would have made the songs more electronic sounding in some ways. Songs like GUILTY and decision could have been less rock and more electro-rock, and I think it would have made the album more interesting.

I would change the covers drastically. The covers for GUILTY are, in my opinion, some of the worst fashion choices I've seen Ayu make.

I would also change the release date. I think it was BS that she ended up at #2. The album may not have been as great as many other Ayu albums, but it was A LOT better than Kobukuro's 5296 IMO.

I basically just agree with what you say. Next level would be so much better without the ballads. even though I'm not really a fan of those remixes, they definitely fit the album better and make it sounds more cohesive.

For Rock 'n' Roll Circus. I'd take off meaning of love, sunrise, sunset, you were, and ballad. I'm not even sure what I'd replace them with. XD but I'd also change the album title. Maybe just make it "Circus" or something that actually fits the theme of the songs.

I basically like to keep the upbeat sound going after the intro + NL, I still think they're absolutely great as intros to the album. I removed the original GREEN + Days because I like the remixes better and they fit more, and EnergizE because EnergizE is kinda too cute to fit in with the others imo. I also removed Curtain call because I just don't like it that much.

I wouldn't make too many changes, except for:

-Mirror would be a full track
-Part of me would be included in this (though it's better on secret)
- Life would be added in
-Glitter would be stripped down into an acoustic guitar version (like Cocoon from Anna Tsuchiya's nudy show!)
-My all would not be included, it'd be swapped for red line
- The cover photos would be of ayu in a grey cell with a sex prision uniform


and first press Ayupan (though i have the photobook lol)

I just don't get why the title Rock'n'Roll Circus doesn't fit lol. If the title were to be taken literally I would understand. But that wasn't the intention.

And add a HANABI ~episode III~ to L...although it would suck if it weren't good lol

And put ever free on Duty

And take Free & Easy off of RAINBOW and make a whole album themed off of that song...my ideal album lol

It just flows a lot better without "Over" and "Close to you," plus I've always hated the last song. "Voyage" just seems like a natural conclusion, very elegant. RAINBOW was always one of my least favorites, but I've been liking it a lot more since I made these edits. I might eventually stick "independent" back in there between "everywhere nowhere" and "July 1st" if I can find a version without "+," but then again I don't necessarily miss it. Putting it there might just make the middle part of the album too loud. Also, if I were really designing the album as it should have been released, then the song RAINBOW would be on there as a hidden track.

I'm tempted to do some trimming on (miss)understood as well, which I think is her least coherent album. I'd take out all the Sweetbox tracks except "rainy day" and "Ladies Night," but sometimes I like listening to some of the others every now and then.

A song for xx
○ Music: I would not change this, it was her first album and that music was trendy in that times.
But if I had to choose, I would put more songs like SIGNAL or Hana, more "fast" songs, than ballads. There are too many of 'em in this album.
○ Covers/Booklet: I would not change anything. Gorgeous booklet, mysterious cover.
○ PV's: I think there was diffrent times, ay? They are boring, but suggestive. Very artsy. They have a good feeling, i would not change them.

LOVEppears
○ Music: I would not change anything. Maybe one more ballad instead of WHATEVER remix or sth. I really like her ballads from LA/Duty era.
○ Covers/Booklet: I would change only fact that there is no connection between cover and booklet, but cover is fine. Gorgeous booklet, so no change.
○ PV's: Same as Asfxx

Duty:
○ Music: Maybe 2-3 more songs. I love this album but it feels so short! I would not change anything, I would add more 1 more ballad, 1 more happy/fast song and 1 grungyrock song like End of the World but maybe more poppy.
○ Covers/Booklet: Not my favorite in fact, but very "catch-in-eye" Fits album, maybe I would add more "other" pics in booklet, not only in leopard suit. She should dress as other animals too ;D
○ PV's: Totally would change the trilogy. Is like my latest fav pv's. Horrible effects, boring. Something with a storyline would be cool. And maybe 1 or 2 more pv's. There's only 4 pv's for Duty.

I am...:
○ Music: I would not change anything
○ Covers/Booklets: Same as Duty. Like the "climat" but they are pretty boring with all-the-same-pics just in other poses. Maybe water-themed Ayu? Or Fire? ;d
○ PV's: I would not change them, gorgeous PV's in that era.

RAINBOW:
○ Music: Maybe more "warm" songs. I LOVE RAINBOW, but i think it's her most cold album.
Maybe not so many ballads, maybe one more cute song?
○ Covers/Booklets: Not changing anything. One of her best covers/booklets!
○ PV's: Not many. Would add 2 more pv's.

Memmorial Adress:
○ Music: There's nothing to change it. This album includes EVERYTHING. Winter ballad song, nostalgic ballad, angry rock medium/ballady song, angry rock fast song, very cute song, medium cute song and "urbanpop" fast sound song. It's perfectly!
○ Covers: I would change cover into sth more interesting, cause booklet it's gorgoeous! She should use not so close up. But i like it anyways.
○ PV's: Haha, PV for Memmorial Address The rest are totally gorgeous. Funny, dark, mysterious, fantasy, wintery. Perfect.

MY STORY
○ Music: Maybe not so "warm ballady" sound of whole album. Maybe one more song like INSPIRE but more urban? This album always reminds me of winter under the fire lols. There's no crazy side of songs on MS
○ Covers/Booklets: Not changing anything, gorgeous cover and booklet! Every pic is very diffrent, classy, mysterious.
○ PV's: Not changing, they are dark and awesome.

(miss)understood
○ Music: NOT CHANGING ANYTHING! <3 It's similar to MA, album got all kinds of songs. Rock, Rock Ballad, Wintery, Cute songs, Urban, Nostalgic...
○ Covers/Booklets: CHANGING COVERRRRRRSSSS! My favorite album and the most ridicolous cover, maybe not with hands on, but this smile... Booklet is boring. I dont like that blurry/stylized photos.
○ PV's: Not changing any<3 Perfect.

Secret:
○ Music: Not changing anything. Maybe not so perfect as (m)u but it have everything.
○ Covers/Booklets: I don't like that glittery theme, but covers are ok. It fits title. Booklet is very pretty, not changing.
○ PV's: PV FOR KISS O KILL!!!!!!!

Guilty:
○ Music: Dunno, i would not change it, maybe something nostalgic as one more track? Something like HAPPY ENDING. Whole album is too massive for me, dunno why.
○ Covers/Booklets: Not changing anything, gorgeous cover art, fantastic booklet.
○ PV's: Not changing, love PV's for Guilty.

NEXT LEVEL:
○ Music: TOO MANY EXPERIMENTAL and ELECTRO songs. It's too massive.
○ Covers/Booklets: I like the cover, catching eye, colorful, interesting. But the booklet it's a total failure.
○ PV's: Not changing, maybe one more?

Rock'n'Roll Circus:
○ Music: One more rocky song, something happy. The rest is very ok. /to fit title/
○ Cover/Booklets: Would change it, it's too plastic/cute for a title "ROCK N ROLL". Booklet is very fine. Not best, but i like it, also photobook.
○ PV's: Not changing.


IN EACH ALBUM = INTERLUDES TO BECOME FULL SONGS. THEY ARE TOO MANY OF EM SINCE MY STORY. period.

Glad I'm not the only one who thought NEXT LEVEL should be changed quite a bit. And I agree with a lot of the changes people have done to GUILTY. I actually really liked how dark/depressing the album was, since she hadn't really done that before all the way through, though I think glitter (even though I like it) and MY ALL being included kind of messed up the whole vibe a bit. Then again, it was much better for them to be included at the end, as a sort of hopeful sign for the future, rather than between all these depressing tracks.

Totally agree with all of this. RAINBOW is probably my least favorite Ayu album, and songs like Over and Close to you were just too slow and dull. I also completely agree with you on independent. That song is pretty annoying, especially with the awful + attached. Voyage as the last song (or Dolls, switched with Voyage) with RAINBOW as a hidden track would have been a great way to end it. I think I might make this version of RAINBOW in my iTunes now that you mention it.

And I definitely think (m)u would be a pretty much perfect album without songs like B&D, In The Corner, and Beautiful Day. tasking is probably my least favorite Ayu~lude too, so maybe it could do without that as well.
