when ayu selects demos, do you believe she picks from a selection of melodies only?
or songs with a vocal track included as well and she changes the lyrics? (hope this question makes sense)

are there any demos of hers out there before she made the song her own?
apart from the music on (miss)understood

There can be vocals too.

The GIFT had JJ singing it.

Memorial address was originally a song by Yukumi's band LOVER SOUND TRACK called Kumo and Ayu made it her own, hence the take 2.

It's a lot more common to see the demo libraries of Western producers but I imagine all of Ayu's probably have some kind of male or female vocal singing lyrics or a la la la to the intended melody.

I'm sure we'll be able to find the Wake me up demo somewhere, lol.

Hope she releases demo versions of songs for 20th anni.

Fairyland is in my opinion the perfect summer song like ever. I like it even more then July1st. Although I have a few ifs with the PV, it could show more of the island the scenery is breathtaking. Although Ayu in the water scenes are iconic

I was looking through RAINBOW's cd booklet and in some pictures where she has the
feather mohawk I noticed that she has tears on her face. I never noticed that before.

Such a beautiful booklet.

Ayu's music doesn't strike me as "demo library" at all.

Kuu's recent music feels very "plug & play".
Like you can just imagine she sat in a room with her management team browsing through a playlist of songs, picking out her favorite tracks, and writing lyrics to them.

But with Ayu I never get that vibe. Almost all of her songs sound like they were meant to be sung by Ayu, even the western stuff like Lelio, XOXO, etc. I think she is really good at giving her touch to whatever music she releases, whether it's through arrangements, production, lyrics or melody.

Just look at rainy day and how immensely different the demo is. She really made that track her own.

I do feel A ONE, LOVE again and sixxxxxx are kinda throwaway albums though. It feels the least Ayu.

Yeah, it's a cover & I doesn't count for what I said. :-P Same for Many Classic Moments, etc.

(Honestly I always forget she has that song.....it doesn't feel Ayu to me)

Same, it doesn't feel like ayu. Its probably my least played ayu track ever. Even Sayonara has more plays in my playlist.

I wouldn't count it as a cover because :
1) It was never promoted as such (MOWY, Many Classic Moments or teens were all released on official cover albums)
2) The lyrics aren't the same

Was a demo sold to Ayu as well afterward.

I think the "take 2" refers to the fact that she recorded the track in "one take" with the actual band (like, from the beginning to the end of the song), and the version held for the record is the 2nd take.

Tell me why is one of my favourite songs ever and the lyrics are really important to me. For me it feels like Ayu.

That's what I thought too initially, but I don't know if we ever found out what it was exactly. The Kumo thing imo feels better, lol.

I love reading the old beatfreaks.

OMG I wish she did more band tracks.

This song is freaking magical. I used to not like the male vocals at first, but the song is just so full of emotion that I got past it and now I can't imagine the song without them.

I absolutely LOVE the guitar section in the song.
