Chance of an Ayu world tour?

What's the chance of an Ayu world tour happening in the near future?

I mean, come on, she is Japan's best selling SOLO singer (both male and female) artist in HISTORY. I have seen so many other JPOP singers that have had concerts in America, yet Ayu is never one of them. So disappointing.

I wish Timmy would tell Ayu to come overseas and maybe do some intimate concerts. Maybe one in Las Vegas or LA. I'm sure it will sell out.

What do you guys think? Any chance of Ayu having a world tour?

I think ayu is not unpopular enough to make a world tour

Avex artists started to visit my country while struggling to sell 5k copies (move, Anna Tsuchiya, Do As Infinity, BoA)

Not gonna happen. She hasn't even done an Asia tour since 2008, which makes a world tour even more unlikely.

Not worth the expense. I feel like the artists who world tour can either pull a solid anime crowd or are small enough that they can play small venues that cater to an audience with a general interest in seeing smaller/indie artists perform.

I saw Haru Nemuri at her London show and it was incredible, but it was just perfect timing for her to come to Europe. Big enough to fill a small bar venue with people interested in her.

Ayu wouldn't play any of the really small venues and I think the time has passed for her to fill one of the small 'regular' venues. Maybe in 2010 it could have been done. Or if she just played 1 Europe show and forced everyone to travel

As the younger asian music westerners gravitated to kpop and Namie/Koda/Kyary, I think its very unlikely. I ever met jpop fans who maybe even knew who Ayu was but had no idea of what she did.

Until 2012 or so I think a tour with several dates on small venues or a tour will a few dates on places like arenas would be possible if she gave people enough time to plan a trip. Like 1 larger date in Europe and 1 in the US.

Doubt that will happen cos you need to mobilise a lot of people outside of Japan in order for something like this to materialise

Even before Namie retired , I know some were hoping she would at least perform in other countries during her final tour but in the end she only performed in China , Hong Kong & Taiwan

Perhaps that's why a lot of Japan artistes still feel very cocoon ish and are contented to tour within Japan

Some took so long before they decide it's time to perform outside of Japan

It took Mr. Children almost 3 decades to perform for the 1st time overseas this year and likewise Yuzu as well , in line with their 25th anniversary

it's sad she doesn't do anything

there are jrock artists like Yoshiki, Miyavi or Dir en grey who visited my country more than once. their concerts are always packed. why won't Ayu do it

GLOBAL TROUBLE TOUR, very unlikely. Ayu is a performer with dancers, expensive clothes, musicians, etc etc. Maybe she doesn't want to reduce costs in order to perform globally.

Not gonna happen. Too late for that. There's also no point anyway, since she's making money staying in Japan. As others said she isn't even touring in China.

She could do shows in China/Singapore/HK/Taiwan but that’s the extent of it. 10 years ago this was an option, now it isn’t as her fan base shrank. So I’d say chances are 0%.

Rock music travels a lot easier than pop music. We're actually at a point right now where there's a lot more Japanese singers and bands performing world wide, but they do tend to fall under the rock, independent or niche genres.

I'm sure avex could do something about this if they want to

Even if Japanese artistes call it world tour , it's still usually confined within Asia

Also Japanese artistes tend to perform overseas if it's for specific reasons such as celebrating their milestone anniversary or for anime festivals

The chances of her doing a world tour are so little as my chances to go to Japan and see her live on day *cries in spanish*

The reality is someone of her star power, even with declining popularity, is not going to go perform at an anime convention or sit in a bar in NYC and perform to 15 people like Crystal Kay did. I'm not sure she could even make money on a TA-like tour that is extremely scaled back, because taking the dancers and crew with her is also quite costly for an extended trip. I'm not sure many places have the density to give her a big enough audience to make it worth it.

The only chance to have Ayu perform overseas is to book her for a well-paid private event. She didn't mind performing in casino.

I think she’s really focusing on Japan right now.

That ship has long sailed. It’s waaay too risky for her take the chance to do one considering how much her popularity has declined. Well moreso avex saying no. She should walk away from them at this point because they’re not helping her much at this point now (which is sad not to see her on Music Station or at A Nation), but then again with her current status I’m not sure which other labels would be interested.....she could be a free agent though, but that has its down sides too. It’s too costly to do a show overseas. I’ve said for years if she sang at Radio City music hall in NYC...that would’ve been amazing.
