Fans helped write the song "RAINBOW"?

I just read this at this French Ayu fansite. It says the first limited copies of the album Rainbow, containing a password to a secret section of Ayu's official website, allowed some fans to help write the song "RAINBOW".

I never knew this. Is this true?

Thanks

"Rainbow" was a song in progress, as Avex allowed people who had the codes to access the site to download the sample mp3 and help make the song. I remember in the "Behind the Scenes of Rainbow" video, Ayu was editing the lyrics sheet of the song as she was singing it, so I suppose you could probably call it a "take 2" version

Wait...speaking of "Behind the Scenes of Rainbow Video".....was there ever a video of the making of the pv as well as her editing the lyrics available? I mean, I've seen screencaps for both videos here at AHS, but I've never found the videos available for D/L.

I'll be providing this video for download within the week, so while the video doesn't show a whole lot, it may be interesting to some

Yeah....it's a very beautiful song, and I thought Ayu wrote the whole thing herself. It was very kind of Avex to allow fans to participate in such a thing like this. I can only imagine the joy you would feel if you realized a few words you wrote were part of the actual song lyrics.

Wow....but you have to have skill in order to be chosen.

Personally, I would love if Avex allowed people to audition to be extras in any upcoming PV's of Ayu's. I always wished that I was the boy in "No way to say", who supposedly in an angel.

*SP-Caucasian, I believe is the correct spelling.

Yes, I have noticed this. The only PV I can recall with actual Japanese people in it was RAINBOW, although there were still Americans.

I do not understand why either...maybe Ayu will tell us someday.

The videos which was screencapped in this thread, to be precise... not sure of the date just yet (as I'll be trying to UL such items as Ayu-mi-x II), so I'll try to make it a direct download soon

there have been japanese dancers in the because of you pv as well as the greatful days pv.

As for the lyrics...she ended up using the lyrics people sent in as idea as a whole, and wrote her own lyrics. I luckily got one of the first prints of Rainbow, so i was able to go on this site. It was cool!

I think this is a misconception. The lyrics of "RAINBOW" were written by Ayumi Hamasaki. As far as I know fans were never invited to write lyrics for the song. The purpose of the BBS was for them to discuss their impressions of the melody. Those comments were supposed to be Ayu's inspiration. So fans were involved in creating the song, but not by directly writing the lyrics.

That'd be so lame if lyrics would write the lyrics. What's next... 'NEW CONTEST: WRITE ALL THE SONGS TO AYU'S NEXT ALBUM ÁND THE LYRICS TOO' so that Avex won't have to hire song writers.

originally they were gonna pick lyrics that someone else wrote. They concluded that there were way too many ideas...so ayu just used those lyrics that people sent in and used them as "ideas" to write her own lyrics. I'm pretty sure they had planned to do that all along tho, although they didn't say that. It would be kinda strange to have ayu sing a song that her fans wrote...ya know?
