mp4

have you guys heard of mp4? Nero 5 does not recognize the file so I went to www.nero.com to look for plug-ins. It is not available, only plug ins for its new product, Nero 6 Ultra Edition -The Ultimate CD/DVD Burning Suite, is available. But it does not specify if it can support mp4 . Do anyone of you know?

This site talks about MP4, but while I'm not sure at the moment whether you can burn it to CDs by itself, I'm sure there'll be a converter of some sort than can encode it to MP3s

I have found this in one site.

Successor to mp3, mp4 is basically a container it can store many sub-formats, of which the main would be Advanced Audio Compression (AAC). Adding ID tags to mp4 has standardized on the Apple iTunes format. Files ending in .m4a are audio content only, .mp4 can contain both audio and video, .m4v are video files. Apple supplies protected mp4 files in a .m4p format from its online audio store

Ironicly It wouldn't be surprising if they came out with a mp5 audio format. There are, of course, mp1 and mp2 formats - the predasessor to the hugly popular mp3 (which happened to be developed duing the major coming of the internet -about 1996, I think).

If your avod about CD quality music on your computer SHN is one of the best. Essentially its a lossless compression of your CD copy (of the song). This means that essentially no data is lost when you encode to your comptuer. Compared with mp3 endoced at 128kbps, SHN is far better. Namely because mp3 is a lossy compression.

The drawback...you'll need significantly more HD space for the SHN.
