I should have read the newspaper more often. ayu was on the newspaper 4 times last week and i didnt know.

anyway, just to remind you, the correct attitude of reading a hong kong newspaper is to read, laugh and forget.

the '46th japan music award' announced the winner's list on the day before yesterday. ayu has said that she will not be present at the award presentation, and actually she was not on the winner's list. There is a report saying that, actually there are only 2 votes supporting her to get the award this year. judging from the results, it is feared that people will think ayu is afraid of losing and hence announced that she will not take part in the award.

2 days ago, there is a newspaper exclusive saying that ayu will not be present at the awards, and will not accept in any music awards in the future. yesterday ayu explained on the official website that she wanted to tell her fans in person about this decision, and she did not know why the press knew about this decision. Ayu reiterated that hre decision is due to the internal struggles in her company, causing her to be wary of awards. she also said that if she announced her decision after the winner's list was announced, then it would be even more shameful.

the awards panel says, they have not received ayu's application of quitting the competition for awards. the 12 winners that were announced the day before yesterday included mr chilfren, boa, ??? & da pump etc. ayu's nae was not in it. these 12 artists have a chance to compete for the 'gold disc award'. in other words, ayu has no chance of getting the gold disc award.

there are reports saying that ayu is not in the list because she does not have the support from the panel of judges, and only got 2 votes. in the past, mr children was absent fro mthe awards in 1994, and yet got the 'gold disc award'. hence, we can exclude the possibility that ayu not being on the list due to her absence from the award presentation.

on the other hand, a lot of fans feel that it is unfair for ken hirai not to be on the list. this is because his performance this year is very good. the best selling single on oricon is his single, (?) "close the eyes", selling 830,000 copies. the best selling album is utada hikaru's 'single collection vol 1', selling 2,500,000.

dont criticise the newspapers just yet, before you have actually read them. there may actually be something good in it.

and reading one bad newspaper doesnt mean all ASIAN newspaper are bad. if i met one bad american, then i said all CAUCASIANS are evil. that is way over the top, right?

if like they say... the winners were base on sales...why is boa on the list when ayu out sold her this year.... i dont mean to sound rude to any boa fans in AHS.... but this just point out.. ayu put down the award... -_-

I don't trust most gossip columns in general, but I think that the celebrity news on the MAINICHI can be pretty crazy, too. They like to speculate a lot. I trust some of the other Japanese newspapers, but don't really trust a lot of the hk news for Japanese news stories. ^^; They seem to have it out for Ms. Hamasaki, too.

very often the hong kong newspapers are just translating articles from the japanese press. if you dont believe the hk newspapers then you have no reason whatsoever to believe the japanese ones.

lolx... thanx for the infor!! but i think it is kind of contradicting.. yah, kinda difficult to understand =\ but as usual, for one reason that i can be sure that why they love "talking" about Ayu is that Ayu can boost their sales... can't blame, HK's competitive is damn scary...
