Hey guys what music should be introduced to USA

hey guys well i am on my way to getting a recording contract i cannot say what label right now because it is not in stone. But do you guys think i should try the JPOP thing over here i have tons of songs up for producing do you guys think the states is ready for it or is it foolish? Because the beats are so poppy and i really love it i wanna try. So what do you guys wanna hear?

I dont think making something just because you like it will sell in America. Now-a-days, it seems like the only types of music that really sale are the stuff that has sex reference in it, rap, or r-n-b. Or something by some artificially beautiful person. I think you should first look at what sales, then decide from that, if you really want to be successful.

It just seems like the people in America now aren't really open to anything new.

Bah, nothing. It'd be butchered. kristen has a point, people aren't up for anything new. Look at Hikki.. That should tell you enough. There are enough people over here for there to be a quite dedicated J-music following, but I highly doubt it'd ever catch on and become a 'big' thing. o___o The only music I listen to over here anyways is emo/punk/hardcore, I stay away from the "pop" stuff, which blows, as well as the whole 'urban' crap. x_x

Oh, and congrats on the recording contract.

i am going to upload a song into the off topic downloads a sneak peak of this song i am working on. I like the jpop beats lol if that makes sense like mflo, DAI, and bounceback that is what i mean Hikki i don't know what the hell she was doing she was doing music i guess was out there but then my music could be out there. She wasn't marketed right cuz Devil inside was a awesome song i been hearing but no one has heard of her if she had went to trl on mtv it would be different she seems like a underground artist

i love "time goes by by ELT omg that so got me into jpop i downloaded the midi looking for sailor moon stuff lol and that is also how i found ayu. i love her "Two of us" and Hikki's "in my room, time will tell and automatic i would do these in english if i could find the backing tracks they are online somewhere LOL

first of all english music isnt crap.....lol. and hikki didn't make it not cause she was jpop, but because her first single was EASY BREEZY.

actuallly, currently the new "thing" is little guitar boys like ryan cabrera and john mayor and little small-time bands are making it big, like the postal service and keane.

Please, America is deprived of naturally beautiful people (inside and out) like Ayu. But we all know that she won't make a debut here ..

Really though, people won't listen to anything that's not in English. They suck because they have no idea what they are missing out on. I got my bestfriend hooked on Japanese music (Ayu

and Mika Nakashima) as well as my boyfriend (he likes Laruku) so that's my accomplishment.

I say... it depends.

Stick to songs like SEASONS, End Roll, SURREAL, Liar, or M and you could maybe do pretty well. Don't go too poppy because people don't like that anymore in the US. (HONEY type of music) And please, don't go all ghetto or R&B. Please.

If Jpop should be introduced to ANY place, then it should be in Europe. It already has the true culture clash, with French songs going number one on English music boards...I love those people, really.

But anyways, Americans are too busy griping about Britney Spears' breast and 50 Cent's gunshot wounds to care about true music (aka virtually anything non-American nowadays).

Hmmm...a very interesting question with very interesting answers.

I don't think J-pop would sell very well here in America; unless a bunch of anime/j-pop fans actually banded together and MAKE it sell.

I think I said this here before once and I'm going to have to say it again; America doesn't promote Asian people like they should. You hardly EVER see an Asian in a Pepsi commercial here let alone in a movie unless it's something to do with martial arts or some kind of stereotyping role. And if it's not that, the movies that give them serious roles are in limited theaters or just totally suck with horrible voice-overs.

All the American public seems to want is what will corrupt pop-culture even further. They won't advertise anything that will try to make it stable. And if they do, it's only a plot to make it into something sexual or violent in the end.

If you look at BET for just fifteen minutes, your face will be slammed with ass and breasts during the entire time. You might even see the occassional gun toting guys saying "they'll kick anybody's ass."

And if you look at MTV you'll see pretty much some of everything from sexual situations to kill off your frame of mind, to watching stupid rich girls who cry over something about not getting a car for their 16th birthday. (I'm 16, I didn't get a car for my birthday...am I supposed to get an episode on MTV about it?)

, I just live my life and keep on going on with it.

In other words, the American music/movie industry wants you to live in a fantasy world and stay in it. They don't want you to be different, so therefore they're not going to promote anything different from the norm.
But if this is what you really want to do, your going to have to do it until it breaks through into the mainstream and if that's what you want, you can't give up. EVER.
Who knows, maybe you'll be the one to fix this "sexual revolution" we're in. But either way you do it, I'll be behind you a kabillion-%.
