Opinions: is this LOVE...? PV
Now that the PV for is this LOVE has been posted in the download forum (as a LQ wmv but still rather nice). I would like to know peoples opinions on it.
I think it is alot nicer than I thought it would be, I was afraid it would be like moments. Thankfully it wasn't and I found the video rather beautiful, if a little confusing (I'll have to go read the translations for the lyrics.. to see if I can understand what is going on better) all in all, very nice! Anyways.. yes, it would be nice to hear others thoughts on this PV. TIA everyone! |

Everything she touches come across is destroyed.
I'm glad this video at least lived up to what I was hoping for. I just wish she would get over the grungy look Last edited by //hikari; 19th April 2005 at 08:48 PM. |

It seems as if Ayu's style is evolving into something much more mature.
This PV also seems to center around a relationship, although it's much more blunt, and less glamourized than STEP you. With this film, there isn't too much to take apart, other than the fact that her feelings are creating a visual mirage of how she perceives the relationship. Presumably, they live in the apartment together. And she's just alone and with her thoughts. Not quite sure what the car/boy incident is about, though. That still has me confused. I liked the explosions, but not for the sake of them being explosions. They just had a purpose; they had significance. Last edited by Love Appears; 19th April 2005 at 08:43 PM. |

I have to agree with Love Appears viewpoint to a degree. This is about a relationship, but with whom?? My first guess is Ayu's relationship with her father. As the title clearly states, 'is this LOVE?', I believe Ayumi is questioning her father for not being there when she needs him the most.
The shattering glass is definetly in relation to Ayu's feelings which she has bottled up inside of her and can no longer hang on to anymore. She wants to let everyone know that living things (humans and animals as well) will always need someone/something to comfort them no matter what the situation is. The destruction could also represent Ayu's relationship with her dad can no longer be fixed no matter how hard she tries. The scene with the boy almost getting hit by the car is Ayu's way of saying 'people will sometimes be in an unsafe predicament which they can't seem to get out of, but there will be a helping hand to lead them along the way to safety.' This is just my interpretation of the PV. If this is true or not remains to be unknown. |

I assumed she never really noticed things where falling apart, when things exploded she had her back turned away, but it was also almost like she was anticipating(expecting) the things would go wrong. I dont know, its what I've always wanted from a Hamasaki video, lots of explosions and things breaking. |

since her back/head is always turned when the explosions start, Im thinking if she's trying to say people or herself tend to hide away from problems?
i dont understand the pv. translation of the songs is needed..~ Last edited by Surreal; 19th April 2005 at 11:05 PM. |

It liked it, but I was hoping for "because of you" style but that wouldn't have been original. xD However, the mango exploding is pretty funny. XD

I think it's a beautiful PV, but i wanna know what she was trying to tell us through this PV. Something about her past? Feeling about someone? I really wanna know!
Waiting for the translations too.

for some reason i actually really really liked the simplicity of it. it wasnt some funky one all done in front of a greenscreen, i loved the effects and i actually liked it better than "step you"..although i must admit, i didnt understand what the hell the video was trying to implicate. i guess i'm weird caues i really havent liked all her pvs lately and this is one of the peak ones. it also made me like the song much more. interesting isnt it? imagery associates with the sound and makes you appreciate them both more. they worked well together, and i liekd it a lot.

I thought about the PV, and maybe it's about facing problems and things like that. Because she looks at something (mirror, bowl of fruits, aquarium...) and then she turns her back at those things and it exploses. Just like she doesn't want to face her problems, so she turn her back on those problems and they just get worse (explosion).
What I still don't get is the Ayu in the normal room and the Ayu in the messed up room. Also, the boy in the streets. What happenned? How come the boy didn't got hurt? Maybe, she can't face her problems, but want to help other people. I'm confused. LOL.

i see it as...ayu has alot of problems and if she doesn't look after it they'll go worst(kaboom explosion)
at the end everything is back to normal because it hasn't happen yet and it will if ayu ignores it. also about the kid and the car...i think that could means like asongforxx mention ayu have to ability to help others but not herself and she can't help herself because no one is around to give her a hand.... this pv got some really good concept and original too ![]() description from yesasia: is this love lyrics describe the sorrow feelings of liking him but he got a girlfriend already(unstopable missing of someone) step you lyrics describe the mind of a in love woman and hoping for more of it (player maybe?)

the video was nice...i loved how things were blowin' up...
from yesasia where it describes ayu's new single...it says that the song is about this girl liking this guy who already has a girlfriend, and the song is about her problems. |

Some good opinions and points of views so far.. I'm still not exactly sure what I make of it yet.. it wasn't a clear to me (for my opinion) as 'My names WOMAN' or 'STEP you' but I think if I watch it again I'll maybe gain a little of my own understanding (which may or may not be right.. I'll never really know but that's okay..)
It's nice to see others interpretations. ^_^ |
