Whoa, I thought the children were dressed a little strangely out-dated-ly... Interesting... I wonder what it's supposed to mean...

Notice how the carnival is a bit old fashioned too; along with the TV's at the end and such.

I think it's either:

a) Put in old-fashioned era just because
b) Put in old fashioned era because it has some meaning to the whole plot in general

If it was (b) then it's probably just a small fact put into the bigger picture; not really looking into--but still interesting, i guess.

Interesting to have that pointed out :/ Hopefully someone eventually asks Ayu about that in an interview. Maybe a random year- maybe not.

Well, the era really isn't really that important in her PV's since it's more for a "cool" look rather than authenticity.

I think she was going for some kind of old fashioned sideshow circus-y look.

I had pretty much figured it was set in the 40s based on the carnival imagery, the childrens clothes etc. I don't think there is any special meaning to the date, it's just the look that she wanted the video to have.

Maybe that's the way they treated singer in the 1940's and she felt she has been treated llike that.

So she set the video in that time.

or maybe she's saying it's never changed, that it's always been of that situation.

Haha I doubt Japanese people had time to listen to music when they were starving to death back then.

I think it's just a random date.

maybe 1948 is the time when the pers in newspaper is getting famous...
newspaper become one of the most famous media at that time..
maybe its like that..since we all know that the clown at alterna PV is symbolsym the pers
