^I don't like cover songs that either, though it depends whether the singer can sing well or not. I haven't heard of Angela An either..

TO BE is one of my favourite songs, I think this singer did okay but I definitely prefer Ayu's version..

So you probably hate "Bold & Delicious", "Pride", "rainy day", "Beautiful day", "Ladies Night" and "In The Corner" right?

If they cover a song and do a better job, I have no problem with it.

But usually Taiwanese/Hk singers do inferior versions.

Doing a cover is not stealing or copying. But when you cover a song that was first done by another singer, people tend to set certain expectation of the cover song to be as standard and quality as the original. Unfortunately, for those who did cover of ayu songs so far, I would say didn't do a very good job.

As for Ayu's cover of Sweetbox songs, you got to admit that many of ayu's versions sound very good still thanks to the composers who did the new arrangement of the music. Eg: Ladies Night. I personally feel that the credit should goes to the ppl who did the arrangment for ayu's versions, instead of just Ayu alone. And Sweetbox definitely still owns because they made the music.


And nope Ayu doesn't get the credit because D.A.I composed the music of To Be. Ayu only did the lyrics which was completely redid into chinese in this cover.

Don't forget Memorial Address.

Although I thought Ayu's cover of those songs were better, simply because Ayu had a different arranger, and I thought I like the new arrangement better.

^actually, GEO composed it for Sweetbox's new album, but then he send them to Ayu. So technically, it is a Sweetbox song.

It doesn't sound too bad. Her voice is okay, and the music hasn't changed. But I still like Ayu's version better.

^yes, the original is called Kumo. The composer is also the composer of Kumo. And like those songs, the arrangement is also different. I think that's why they called it "take 2 version".

I think I actually prefer this person's version to ayu's. I was never much of a fan of TO BE anyway, but for some reason this version feels slightly more heartfelt and passioate, it just has a better arrengement in my opinion.

in my opinion those ayu songs have to be the worst ive only listen once sadly i hate missunderstood cause of those songs

The lyrics of Ayu's version are written by herself. She took the music but changed the lyrics and the arrangements a little.
