Most No.1 singles by a female Japanese artist
With Startin'/Born to Be... Ayu has surpassed Seiko Matsuda for the number of #1 singles by a female singer.

Seiko had 25 #1 singles.
Ayumi Hamasaki has 26 and counting.

Ayu has had a total of 37 Top 10 singles.

This is assuming that someone lasts as long as Ayu and gets no.1 many MANY times :x

A stunt like 12singles in 12 weeks won't cut it because they won't all hit no.1 :\ ;p

im asking if its possible if he cant. cos in almost every msg ive seen from him regarding sales/records etc. theres a mention about KK n i dont c a pt in mentioning her/her things when this is about ayu.

Ayu is the no. 1 female artist because ZARD was a group, later became one solo female singer, but not in the start.
