A Vital Member Of Detroit's Hip-Hop Scene Dies "Proof"

Please if your not a fan of rap then keep it to your self. So Please DON'T FLAME .

His best friend and fellow D12 MC Eminem rocketed to worldwide fame, but for many people in the Detroit rap scene, Proof was the people's king and an equally vital figure in helping to establish the city as an international hip-hop hot spot.

"He looked out for everybody. He was Em's best friend, but he was everyone's best friend." — Proof's longtime friend and former manager, Mark "Doughboy" Hicks

Proof (born DeShaun Holton), 32, was killed by a gunshot to the head early Tuesday morning (April 11) outside Detroit's CCC Club in a shooting that left another man in critical condition (see "D12's Proof Shot And Killed At Detroit Club"). Friends remembered him as an unparalleled battle rapper, a creative force and hometown booster who never stopped searching for the next big thing — in high schools, clubs, conference rooms or anywhere else he could stage a lyrical throwdown."He brought together the whole Detroit scene," close friend T3 of fellow Detroit group Slum Village said. "He knew everybody. And he was one of the illest freestyle MCs ever. I remember me and him used to just battle all day."

"He looked out for everybody," said his longtime friend and former manager Mark "Doughboy" Hicks. "He's one of the prototypes for the music biz in Detroit. Proof was everywhere; that was part of his thing. He was in clubs, he was a street guy, a people's person. He reminded me of Peter Tosh or Tupac, how he had his house open and welcome to everybody. He had the biggest heart [of anyone] I've ever known in my life."
Im not a big fan of D-12 but it hurts me to know that he got shot over a agurement. I know the D-12 wont be the same and I Em is hurting right now. They were friends since High School. I except a song for him by Em soon.

I had heard rumors of this at school and I saw this on MTV news and was quite shocked that it was true. I am not a big fan of rap, I like some. But it is sad to see someone get killed for a reason like this. I actually liked some D-12's songs, they were probably one of the only rappers I could listen to. Yeah, Eminem will probably write a song in his memory.

Not a problem, it's just a little depressing reading these kind of things it's just gotten to the point where it's just useless and ridiculous. People should learn to get a life and grow up.
