No cameras allowed at Ayu concerts?
I just noticed something watching Ayu's My Story DVD. It seems like people don't have cameras at her concert?
Is this a rule in Japan where people aren't allowed cameras at Concerts?

It's a general rule in most places, IMO. The same goes for American concerts - some don't allow cameras at all, others have restrictions on what type of camera you can bring.

Kinda sucks. I think we have that kind of rule in UK but they don't tend to enforce it as inevitably, loads of people bring their cameras.
I took cameras to a Justin Timberlake and 2 Britney concerts a while back and they never searched us. There was a time in one of the britney concerts I was told to put my camera down because I was holding it up recording movies......I carried on after the guy left XD But I found it a little weird as I thought at least a few people would've bought a camera to Ayu's 2005 concert. I mean if I went there (as it's one of my goals) heck I'd bring a camera!

It is STRICTLY forbidden to bring cameras or mobile phones into the arena. They don't search you very carefully but theres a TON of guards inside the arena who keep watch over the audience.
I sneaked a small camera with me though ![]() |

So what would happen in a situation if one of the guards caught you? Do they give you a warning to put it away or do they kick you out instantly?
I think it kinda sucks that you're not allowed to take pictures. I mean after all you did pay. Although I do understand that some people might try and make profit by taking in a video camera and recording the whole concert.

I'm quite sure they would have confiscated my camera or it's memory card. I don't know if they would actually throw me out, but it seems likely.

Cameras aren't allowed at most concerts. When I do press work for J!-ENT and get to shoot a concert, we have to get permission from the record companies to do it. AVEX is notorious for being extremely strict with photos. Lesser known and independent artists are usually more lenient and allow cameras. All of the Korean shows that I've been to allow people to bring cameras.
I've been shooting concerts for awhile and from my experience, most people don't have cameras that are capable of taking good concert photos anyways. |

No cameras are allowed because probably Ayu doesn't want cameras in there either. If you really think about it, taking pictures/videos at one of her concerts is a sign of disrespect if they specifically request for no cameras/cellphones. Just imagine a ton of camera flashes coming in your direction while you're performing/singing...I'm sure you'd be blinded.
I was tempted a few times to take pictures at other concerts I've been to (non-Ayu concerts) but I chose not to sneak my camera out to respect the artists. |

Aww shame really....oh well, if I do go (whenever that is lol) I'll just know inside myself that I was there.......oh and the memorabilia too
![]() If the UK knew of Ayumi Hamasaki, no doubt that if she held a concert everyone will be bringing a camera.

No cameras allowed! Well, if you watched A Museum, there is a part where Ayu is singing on the center stage and a girl jumps wildly (since she is literally next to Ayu) and...
takes out her camera!! |

ALso, most cameras and vvideocameras either make noises or shed light that is VERY annoying to the audience around the one holding it. It may ruin the entire experience for the nearby audience.

It's a rule all over the world. In Europe, Latin America, US... but everybody does it, anyway and the bodyguards doesn't care, as long you aren't with a videocamera.
Anyway, in Japan people follow the rules strictly. It's part of the culture. So, nobody takes picture, not because of bodyguards, just because they follow rules. The bodyguards in concerts aren't very effective anywhere in the world, actually, for Johnny's concerts, for example, there's lots of fan videos on the Internet... But it's good that Japanese follow the rules at concert, because if photos were allowed, then they would go crazy. Go anywhere in Japan and there are 394829209484834902 of them photographing! |
