good program for composing music?
ok, well im starting to think that i shouldnt be singing covers for too long, cuz it would make me seem like im not putting much effort into my music...so i would really like to make my own mixes of songs and sing them, or make entirely new compositions for songs ive written myself...but im really having trouble finding a good program with lots of instruments and sound effects (one in particular is the cool ominous bass sound heard in the opening of Tori Amos's Hey Jupiter "Dakota Version") preferably one thats full...thanks for helping me find one!

Just go to download.com and type "composer", That's what I always do. MIDI composers are kinda good, but unless you can play an instrument it's always going to sound kinda computer edited

i personally use Fruityloops. You can render to mp3 or export as MIDI. All of my remixes i made for the RXS VS AYU cd were done with FL.

cubase, magix music maker and reason are all good programs. cubase and magix focus more on loops but reason focuses on composition but the first two are reasonably cheaper to buy.
if you can shell out $700 for Ableton Live then get it, coz its what a lot of the big name djs and producers are using. asdgfsadgacrackaserasdr

I don't really use composition software. I do things the "old-fashioned" way, and program them on a workstation, then rip the tracks via mobile-pre to my computer and edit & mix them as I please in the original version of Adobe Audition. I don't trust software that much, so I prefer a more hands-on approach. Obviously, though, this requires more hardware and such, and is a bigger investment.
I have Magix Music Maker, though I honestly haven't been able to figure it out. I've only tried to use it a few times, but it seems like more trouble than its worth to me. |
