Ipod Recovery

My ipod mini got cleared somehow and it doesn't make sense, i added a song and unplugged it and everything was gone, but I guess it can't be reversed now. I searched if there was a way to recover at least my last songlist (the list of all the songs that were on the ipod), and I found this drive recovery program and ran it, and something called itunes.db showed up, and i think i might contain some songlist related data. Anybody who has any suggestions or knows a simpler way, what caused the clearing in the first place, or if this is a common problem, please help.

oh god that happened to my video ipod. 3000+ songs gone. I still only have 1000 something now. *sigh* but no, I don't think there's a way to recover all of the songs you once had after they've been deleted, or if there is I haven't found it.
I figure that I might have unplugged it before it was finished updating.

I don't get why you would have lost your songs completely because they got wiped from your iPod? Wouldnt they just get put back on once you reconnect to iTunes?

Months ago, I let my friend put songs on my ipod and when she went back to put more songs on it she said the songs got deleted or something. I went to her because for some reason I was having trouble using my ipod. you know, putting the disc in that comes with it. downloading songs on it. Since then, I haven`t even looked at my ipod. I use my CD player.

lol, an iPod is more convenient then a CD player! If you were having problems, 99% of the time, Apple's customer service is quite helpful.
