JMusic Releases that Disappoint You the Most

J-Pop Releases (Single/Albums) that Disappoint You the Most

Which J-Pop Releases Disappoint You the Most ~
Let's say you love one particular artist, and you have been his/her/their fans for years and follow every tunes they churn out. Finally your favourite artists announce their new single/album and you get all excited about it and expect it to be their best single/album Ever. You waited all days/weeks/months and finally the big day comes and when you listen to it, it sucks so badly you regret having to wait all that time

No bashing, regardless of how much love or hate you have towards certain artists.
Opinions are one thing, bashing the opinions is another. once the line is crossed, this thread will be locked regardless of who wins the eventual arguement.
Be careful.

For Me~~

Mika Nakashima's latest album YES | that disappoints me the most. Almost all the tracks inside are flat and forgettable.

BoA - Made In Twenty | I have a strong dislike for this album. I want BoA to try different things with her music but not this. Outgrow was a lil' better , at leat i like more tracks LOL. This was definitely worse. Here's to hoping that her new album doesn't stink.

PLAY - Namie Amuro | Jesus i don't have words to say how I hate this album. I am not such a fan of her but I love the last releases Baby dont cry and Funky Town. Queen Of Hip Hop is great and CSCEIM Is amazing too!!!
But PLAY ...Jeex! I just love the songs from singles and Hide&Seek. I really hate and i though she can do better.

I think the only release ever that I was disappointed with was BOld&Delicious. Other than that I don't really care. Artists WILL release things you don't like (allthough it hardly happens with ayumi and a coupld of others) so why bother?

Namie Amuro - PLAY
Maybe I haven't warmed up to it yet, but I don't like it as much as QoHP. All of those songs were dancable and catchy. PLAY's tracks on the other had...lack something. The only track that a really go 'WOW' at was the SPICY remix of Violet Sauce. The guitars were amazing and I always hear it turned up loud!

Koda Kumi - Black Cherry
None of the songs didn't seem to catch my attention to be honest. My favorite album is still 'secret' from her. However her latest singles are quite good and catchy, so maybe there'll be a better album this year! <3

Koda Kumi - Black Cherry

Seriously I don't know how this album got to sell 1 million. If there was an album which deserved 1 million, it's secret [Kumi's album]. It's too mediocre and the album tracks sounded like they recorded them at the last second.

BoA - Make a Secret

One of the worst singles in history, although lately her non-ballad singles really suck. With a mid-tempo song and a boring pv, this single really marked her downward movement towards slower and more tedious songs. I wish BoA would quit this mellow phase. She's seriously getting everyone bored of her.

Koda Kumi - FREAKY
I agree. The single pics are too lovely. But the single is totally sucks. FREAKY is a horrible song. Sora is horrible. Run For Your Life seemed to be nice, but is obnoxious excessively to me. girls is idiot, but is the better for the single.

Koda Kumi - BUT / Aishou
I wasn't wait for this. BUT is obnoxious. And Aishou is too repetitive and idiot.

Koda Kumi - Black Cherry
Excluiding Yume no Uta single tracks, I really love all single tracks. But the album tracks are too stupid and seems made to make an album for sales. Horrible!

BoA - MADE IN TWENTY
All single tracks are idiot. All album tracks are idiot. No more words.

Ayumi Hamasaki - A BEST 2
I was waited for two new songs are recordings of all songs.

For me...

L'Arc~en~Ciel: SEVENTH HEAVEN
- It's been like a hundred years since their last single, so of course I was damn excited and I was sure this would blow me away. But it really didn't. As for the title track, I don't hate it, but I don't like it with the disco tune either. HONEY 2007 was great though, but I got bored with it already :/ I was really disappointed. I really hope the next single will be something great...

Ai Otsuka: All singles after Frienger
- I has been one of my favourite artists, but after LOVE COOK I've been excited with every single release like "yes yes yes... no." The songs are not bad, they just have nothing new. I've actually given up already. I've only listened the new single once :/ Please Ai, go back to original, quality music!

That's all I can think of for now.

I'm actually also one of the "fallen" fans of Ai. hehe, but it's not that she disappoints me, I just loose interest when she makes boring songs. I still think her first album is the greatest and I have almost totally lost interest since Planetarium. I don't even remember the name of her latest single. O.o

^ Ah same here. I love Ai but lately her releases have become too similar and too mellow for my tastes. I used to collect every single release of hers but lately nothing is attracting my attention. It's a shame since Ai-chin is such an awesome personality.

I agree with you. The singles after LOVE COOK (excluiding CHU-LIP) are extremally sucks than the "Ai am BEST" songs. <3

Like *Petit*, I know I can't like everything but I just don't care. However, I just cannot stand Bold & Delicious
Dull covers, boring PVs and atrocious songs, very painful to listen to

Ai Otsuka - Everything after Frienger did suck. CHU-LIP was strangely addicting, but wtf happened to your amazing ballads?

Koda Kumi - BUT/Aisho I loved...and then you released that crap FREAKY. Wtf? The title song was the only good song. PLEASE. PLEASE. Go back to making the secret-era ballads. They were so beautiful. PLEASE go back to BEST ~FT~ AND ~SS~!

mink - I really loved you at first, but after Shalom I haven't listened to anything. x-x that was like a best album and that was it.

Spread the Moments love!

Anyway.

BoA - OUTGROW
This album... just really bores me. I had only heard Everlasting before the album's release so I was all... excited, I guess. And then thought it was just boring. =/ Only a few memorable tracks. Meh. I was listening to it again earlier today and had to stop halfway through. *sigh*

Koda Kumi - Cherry Girl / Unmei
Been getting all these great singles, and then this suckage comes out. /Great/ job, Kuu. =D

Going away now.

BoA - Made in 20: seriously, WTF?!?!

Namie - Funky Town: Amazing covers but the song was horrific... I'm so happy the rest of the songs on the album were good and amazing.

ayumi hamasaki - RAINBOW

At the time, it really was a disappointment because it was so different from her previous works. I stopped listening to her until Memorial address, which rekindled my appreciation for ayumi, and I also grew to love RAINBOW shortly afterwards.

Utada Hikaru - Boku wa Kuma

I know it's for a children's show, but it's just too childish and unexpected. It's the only song I don't have of hers and I often forget that it's even part of her discography.

Well guess it's my turn. I only have a couple though:

Kumi Koda - BLACK CHERRY

Like others have said, this album was just...what? I LOVED most of the single songs, so I was really excited for this album. But, the album tracks are rather bland, save a couple...and then to top it all off, like so many of Kumi's albums suffer from, the tracklisting is so all over the place and random. I only like to listen to select songs from it now and then, but rarely as a whole album.

Gackt - Na no ni whatever whatever.

Gackt, srsly. It was like a whole year since your last actual single. I KNOW you love your ballads, boy, and I KNOW you've gotten addicted to your nasal voice, but wtf, mate? The only thing worse than the actual song on this single was the fact that it had to be done over about four more times...in a row. Ouch. Good to listen to the original ballad once in a while, but please don't make any more before your next album. Please?

That's all I can really think of for now. I might think of others later.

Almost everything in 2007.

Koda Kumi - Black Cherry & FREAKY. Everyone knows why.

Namie Amuro - PLAY. Due to the lackluster album tracks.

Mika Nakashima - YES. Ew. Ew. Ew. Mika gives Gospel music a bad name. Really.

BoA - Key of Heart + Made in Twenty. What twenty? Twenty minutes? Well, it does sounds like it was made in twenty minutes. For a big fan of OUTGROW and Girls on Top, this is really a disgrace to her discography. Aside from SO REAL, everything is just...omg. I can't even describe it without breaking AHS rules.

Ayumi Hamasaki - glitter/fated. The always-innovative J-Pop queen once again recycle her old materials. Been disappointed by BLUE BIRD, a.k.a. fairyland ~episode 876243205~, now she's back with "glitter". Ew. Thankfully "fated" saved the single for me.
