Ayumi Hamasaki's new rumoured squeeze is said to be a certain Mr U.

He was her driver-turned-manager and now, he appears to have wormed his way into her heart.

Mr U is Ayumi's latest romantic fling since breaking up with actor Tomoya Nagase in July.

He is the same age as Ayumi - 29 - and is said to be tall and masculine, with a crew-cut hairstyle.

Flash magazine exposed the budding relationship last week when it published pictures of Mr U visiting Ayumi at her new apartment in the posh Roppongi area.


Apparently, she has been staying at home to avoid the media, and Mr U drops by often to keep her company.

She even spent her birthday on 2 Oct with him alone, at her house.

And when her co-workers threw a party for her three days later, he was the one who sent her home and left only the next morning.

What if he's just doing his job, you ask.

Flash magazine argued that their intimate behaviour goes beyond that of a typical artiste-manager relationship.

Once, when she got drunk at a celebration party after a concert in Japan, he carried her to the car and sent her home.

He also travelled to Taipei with her when she was there to stage a concert in March, and she was photographed feeding him fruits at Shihlin night market.
