im not sure if its a film or tv show but the title is SAIYUKI aka JOURNEY TO THE WEST.

hmm that's really weird because in all of her profiles (on Japanese websites no less) there is no mention of her being in a drama called Saiyuki.

This is the first time I've heard of Ayu in Saiyuki. I'd like to see the film, if it's ever discovered...

Nice spotting, it's always nice to find something new about Ayu's acting days

It's a guest appearance, she wasn't a regular on the show, which might be why most sites don't mention it.
