This is weird but a few weeks ago I broke my sony M2, so I have not been able to listen to too much Jpop lately. And to make it even worse I am still confused about the pv for walking proud

Heehee I was confuzzled by that pv too XD But I do agree with you about the innocence, introspection and acceptance, and dignity...That's about as far as I've come too XD
But there's another pv that I don't get...I don't really understand how the ANGEL'S SONG pv actually relates to the song XD It was a really silly music video lol |

the first thing i thought of when i saw this thread title was walking proud too. i also don't understand Moments, and i really want to because i know it probably has a really cool meaning. i'd say GREEN too but i think most people are completely stumped on that one.

I always thought Sparkle was because she's talking about being all forward and confident .. and that's what she's doing in the PV ~ I think the PV just compliments the lyrics really xD

IMO ANGEL'S SONG's lyric is talking about something like Guardian Angel so I guess Ayu's transformation into the werewolf and protecting the people there is guardian angel-like. I always though it like that
![]() While walking proud talks about lies and surrounded by lies...that maybe represent by imitation beings, robots, a lie to life itself and the fake scenery. That life full of lies made Ayu escaped and becomes the black-haired Ayu. In the end Ayu found that she herself have also made lies (her robot), the potrait of 'I'll be my ideal self someday'. Moments from lyric-wise, I see Ayu potraying the person who is described in the lyrics, the one whose heart is broken and such, dying for protection and warmth. So she was like teary-eyed and gloomy. I don't really know the whole kids and the wooden doll thing. The stained Ayu in feathers and black paint? maybe describing the 'offering my wings to your wounded back'. idk Last edited by terra; 20th November 2009 at 11:47 AM. |

^ I read that the director said the black paint is blood, but they didn't want it to have an adult rating.

I really don't get the 'point' in Talkin' 2 Myself.
And is Free & Easy, a kind of execution?

Yes, it's like the story of Joan of Arc.

I'm confused by the Days PV. Like I get she fantasizes about being with the guy but I can't really figure out which one is the fantasy and which part is reality.

Sometimes a little mistranslation leaves people confuzzled lol But it's really hard to translate things from Japanese so I don't complain ![]() |

Thanks for the walking proud interpertation, that makes sense. I am still not convienced that Ayu is speaking about Joan of Arc in her pv, and the ending of the pv is so ambigious that I think it is even more difficult to say she is refering to Joan of Arc, even though the title is Free & Easy. I have always liked the Moments mv because the dark lyrics, in the beginning of the song match the mv flawlessly:
Your heart began to be scorched, and there was a smell of it It was the end of your dream, and the start of everything What you adored looked beautiful to you It became even brighter because you couldn't reach it The broken pieces of your dream Pierce my heart Leaving the pain That I should never forget Your heart began to be scorched, and there was a smell of it It was the end of your dream, and the start of everything If my life is transient like a flower I'll be in full bloom by your side And after watching your smile I'll fall alone, quietly How was the scenery you saw When you were pushed into an abyss of despair Your naked heart is wandering Having nowhere to go And is setting sharp thorns around For fear of being touched The beginning of the song is so flawless because we get an image of a women, a ghost possibly or some type of person who is not fully human and they are looking on in life. This particular individual is searching for something, yet they are guided by a light, from the candle. Maybe the children are meant to represent innoncence, like the love that Ayu, the narrator in the song, gives to the person who the song is being sung to. Also the dolls are just children's playthings yet they are something that most of us were attached to some point of another, yet the children are ripping the dolls, they are destroying that which is supposed to make them innoncent and care free. Furthermore, look at all of the flower imagery: transient like a flower, blooming, thorns. There is also bird imagery and quite a few naturalistic scenes present (I think Ayu has read Frankenstein or Victorian literature, jk lol). Ever more, we get the question of scenary while in an abyss of despair now this is alarming because abyss depending on the context means hell and to be in an abyss of despair is to be in probably one of the most hellish scences any individual can possibly be confronted with because you are hopeless, but this is hopelessness at its worst. I think that the idea of fear is something that is prevelant in this song, especially ending with the last line but fear has entrapped us all. Whether it be because we are scared to welcome people into our lives or if it is because we want something so desperately and out of fear we will do anything to keep it. Look I am sorry that I rambled on, I had two finals back to back (religious studies and history so I am a bit out of wack currently). |
