Ayu vs Lady GaGa! XDD

This is a little something I came across while googling "Ayu vs Britney"!
http://allmusicjunkies.com/magazine/...lady-gaga.html

It's all fun! <3 If this offends people, I apologize in advanced. ^^;

People love to bash Lady Gaga....and even though I'm not a huge fan of her's, I find this kinda uncalled for and just random. Their styles are so different....and they have nothing in common other than that they're both blonde (sometimes) and are pop stars.

I just clicked on it and don't have time to read it all but I did see a line saying how Ayu's lyrics are meaningful and GaGa's are trashy or whatever.

Here's my verdict on this situation:

If you can make really good (pop) music, they lyrics can be as shallow as they come. As long as the SONG is good (good beat, wicked composition/arrangement), then continue on. Gaga makes good music so I don't care. Lol. Same thing with singers who are criticized for using auto-tune or for computer voices - if it makes the SONG sound good, who the hell cares!? Lol.

Any text that put a singer that has 10 and 1/2 albums + almost 12 years against a singer with 1 and 1/2 album with an almost 2 years and praise the first one for having "divercity" on her music needs to be punched on the face

Really, listen to ASFXX era ayu and search for musical diversity, good luck ¬¬

This does seem uncalled for. I don't think GaGa's lyrics are that shallow, but at times more random and maybe a bit meaningless. I don't take her music seriously, it's fun and that's all there is to it.

Ayu's a totally different story - she's been there for years and did many things (regarding her career) that GaGa might not even get the chance to, but of course she still has a long way to go. Anyways it's a bit stupid to compare the two...but people on here who tend to go all like "OMG she is copying Lady GaGa" should read this as it points out quite a few facts.

Man, so stupid comparison!

It's complete ********. How long is Lady GaGa in music business now? Over a year and released two albums.
And how long is Ayu in music business? Twelve years now. How many hit singles has Ayu realeased?, hmhm.

Man, I really can't stand such dumbness because even comparing a Japanese Artist to an American Artist and calling them both divas.

P.S. I don't think that Lady GaGa is a diva, she is just Lady GaGa, her music is fun to listen to and she has really some nice lyrics.

I really don't like GaGa at all; her performances aren't bad but they tend to bother me at times, her music is awful to me, and I can't stand her lyrics, it's not something I'd ever find myself listening to.

In saying that, I still think it's unfair for any artist to be compared to another. They've got little similarities so why are they compared? They're actually in rather different genres also. I can never see GaGa doing 'rock' songs the way Ayu does, I can never see GaGa writing lyrics like Ayu does; I don't think she wants to, so why compare?

I prefer seeing each artist as an individual, and just having my own opinion of what I like and dislike. It's rather frustrating that news websites and magazines like comparing artists, saying who they think is better, or saying they copied each other and all this.

GaGa also isn't the person that invented these elaborate styles; styles like that have been seen on runways in numerous countries, performers in the past used to wear things similar enough in how 'crazy' they were. She's just become a modern artist that's not scared of it, so she wears it freely. This doesn't mean every artist that wears it from here on out is copying. If that's the case, go look at the entire Visual Kei industry; a lot of people are 'copying' then. Fact is that they're not, since a lot of things will be unique to a person.

Also, it's pretty unfair to compare a singer with more than 10 years of activity to a singer who has had maybe 2. That's just horrible that they want to talk about diversity between those two different times.

It's like comparing Ayu to Britney... Sure they had the same amount of years in the music industry. However, Ayu is older, classy, and she's put out more albums. Ummm... Where am I going with this?

They talk about them like they sing the same music, or even the same language. I mean.. they don't even share a market. LOL.

Now that I think about it... Yeah. It's like comparing apples to oranges.

I don't really think it's a fair comparison, although I really don't care for Lady GaGa at all.... I don't think it'd possible to compare them since Ayu's been in the industry for so long. Also, they have different styles and languages~

I just don't like comparing people because you can't really put someone up against another person and expect the "better" person to be one of them. Because really, there will always be people that stick up for the other person (i.e. Lady GaGa instead of Ayu)

But that's just my opinion

Well, in the case of apples to oranges, this is like comparing apples with a plate of curry, with the only similarity being that there are some apples in the curry recipe. (Did you say "What? Huh?" If so, that's what I was trying to get across.)

To me this match is more based on appearance, looks, styles
Absolutely GaGa can't compete musically to Ayu,they both do distinctive music,
although GaGa is more commercial, upbeat, clubbing sound of her music, that tends to get on your nerves,my opinion at least
I like how The Fame Monster sounds though, and I enjoyed listening to album
But,the winner of this match is AYU!!!

The fact they sing in different languages isn't even important for them to be musically/stylistically compared...

it's a real torture for many other Gaga's fans... but well I don't really care...

Yeah, Ayu's lyrics is a lot more emotional, personal, and touching...

They're quite similar in some points, yet completely different in other points. Gotta respect the talent of lady gaga, despite whether or not you like her music. Still, Lady Gaga has about 4 or 5 hitsingles now (a couple of #1s here and there), while Ayu is well past her 30th hitsingle. Let's see how gaga when she's working on her 11th album...

Well, comparing ASFXX and The Fame lyrics, it's pretty fair to say the later are trashy in comparison

Nah we can't compare them yet. We need at least 3 more Gaga albums to see if she can be just as diverse as Ayu, and can invent herself over and over again, all the while staying as popular and amazing as she is. I'm very curious to see where Gaga will be in 5 years
