Seeing as she's talking about her dancer ZIN, there's nothing wrong referring to him as 最愛 (さいあい / saiai) after they've known each other for so long. You can use it for people close to you that you really care about, and doesn't necessarily have to be romantic. She called him -san so she already implied it's formal and not a loose term. She's just saying it because she cares about him as a friend, and he's important to her. :3
