I think R&B ballads are overrated because they are constantly coming from the same artists. =/ I mean, like Mary J. Blige. I honestly luv her and her music but her ballads can e a total snorefest. Another example would be Mariah Carey. I bacially feel as though her new album is similar to EOM. I have no doubt that Hikki's R&B ballads are gonna be good...really good. I'm just excited that she's working with producers who have been recently producing hit songs. And with the asian invasion coming to american, I'm honest excited to see how Hikki will fair this time.

i liked your last post here, it makes good sense to me, but i dont particularly care for the types of songs these guys have been working on.
theyre alright in their way, but i dont want utada to get stuck with that type of typical american r&b pop feeling.
what i really love about her is how shes always changing and experimenting.
exodus may have been a commercial flop, but its a fantastic album!

i guess im mostly worried that a new song with such prominent producers won't have the hikki feel that i love. im worried that in a search for commercial success in the american market, she'll have to tone down her unique writing style and settle for something less interesting and inovative.

Well, it's not actually the real title... songs are often titled weird things at the beginning when an artist is working on it. Anyone remember "Day of Natto" or "Dancing Leah"?

I think it's been evident from the beginning of the Utada project that Hikki wants to be an R&B/pop artist who makes mainstream music. I wouldn't expect anything like her Japanese music to be released in the States.

Stargate's played out, but not as much as Timbo. His sound is sooo over.

Utada's not famous in the United States (yet), so she won't have the same pressure other artists have to produce a hit mainstream song. She's at the point where she's allowed to experiment, as she's not likely to make or break her company's profits, so I'm sure there'll be some of her original sound in there.

Those titles absolutely sucked...but they were funny.

Exactly. Was Exdous not R&B/pop filled? For the life of me, I will never understand why people keep thinking Utada will devalue Utada Hikaru's work. =/ They two different....projects(?). Besides, I doubt if she added a little of her J-music in english music, it'll hurt her. Wasn't Devil Inside a club hit? =/

Where is this played out located becuase I don't see it? Stargate is still spawing out great songs. As for Timbo, he's Shock Vaule album was great. Plus, I don't think he's production of 4 minutes wasn't that band. C'mon. I know most of guys are still playin' some of his produced songs.
