concede? What kind of a word is that? Just use a normal translation of yuzuru... "I can't give that up" like maikaru's translation.
"Dareka ni kime rareta Rule" Are you sure it's kimerareta? You don't hear her sing rareta. More like naneta. "Because I was taught by you on that day that everything happens necessarily, not casually" This sentence doesn't make sense. "the Rules" Why "the" Rules? The Rules are never specified, so it should be without "the". Last edited by Melrose; 3rd February 2009 at 09:16 PM. |

The romanization of "R" is a little misleading, because it doesnt sounds like english r. Also to Melrose, there is no "the Rules" because "the" in Japanese doesnt exist.. There's no word like that one. So then, it's a bit weird to say. "We are Rule." "Let's destroy Rule" It makes it seem like you are gonna to talk about someone or thing, right? It's a translation issues. I agree he took a bit of liberties in the necessary and casually part.. I would say more "everything is not by accident, but is inevitable." Because he turned "hitsuzen" into an adjective by turning into "casually" But anyways, its a matter of opinions, right? Actually I really like Masa's translations always, I could always learn some english from his translations! ahaha. I could see where my english was really wrong in the translations that we put in the other forum. Last edited by maikaru; 4th February 2009 at 03:38 AM. |

And using 'the' kind of makes the 'rules' more specified. Like 'girls are so beautiful' and 'the girls are so beautiful' may mean the same thing, but the former is referring ALL girls, while the latter refers to this group of girls whom were mentioned before, or at least clear enough to be told which girls in the context. What I guess from 'the rules' is that it's not just any rules. Obviously we can't break the rule of killing someone (okay that's a law but whatever), but we can break other rules... other more personal and complicated rules, like 'having a Blackberry is the rule to be cool now'. I think that's what Ayu was trying to sing about anyways. So in this case, 'the rules' really appear to be quite necessary...
