The secret/trick for Microphone and Sexy little things is that they are connected.

Sexy little things leads into Microphone.

Microphone's ending also has Ayu from Sexy little things "recording/watching" everything happening in Microphone.

And for future reference, the surprise in Don't look back is that she's basically a mess on the right side, with her left side being perfect/pretty, and the other... not so much.

I've posted my review of Don't look back in another thread. Its a pretty easy one to interpret I think - we have a farcade that we put on (represented by a heavily made up ayu), but inside we can be hurting and hiding our demons. But Ayu is moving on from the past that has damaged her so much - she can't go back - and you? There's so many references to things that are "two faced" - even she covers half her face when she sings "don't look back!".

I really like the sexy little things interpretations here. PV makes a lot more sense now!

I realized in Microphone, The black Ayu tears up unhappiness while the SLT Ayu skips 'uninteresting' scenes

this is my thought too! I always thought it's something about you have to suffer before you get freedom to do things you like, just like what ayu did in the PV (smashing the guitar, turning on the eye ball device, dancing randomly in the hall)
