Kuu did a really good job, all the songs have her own touch, I agree, and the vocals are awesome as well (especially misono's song, I get goosebumps every time I listen to it).
But they are just covers of older songs and that's probably enough for some people to be uninterested.

I don't think I'm the only exception.. I've seen plenty of people loving the album who don't seem to care for oldies either. most of the songs just don't have that super old sound anymore in kuu's versions, so it's pretty understandable to me why people would love them even if they don't care for old j-pop songs. but yeah, people might not want to give it a chance because of the album being full of covers of old songs, but they should know these songs are not identical to the original songs. they have been modified and perfected by kumi, imo. if kuu's version of BE MY BABY sounded identical to this I'd hate it. but it's been turned into a hot kumi dance song

^The only ones I like are SWEET MEMORIES and Megumi no Hito (the originals, anyway)! I wasn't too fond of Kumi's cover of SWEET MEMORIES... It wasn't sweet enough.

SWEET MEMORIES is one of my favorites. it's perfectly sweet to me! her lives of it were adorable too.

Koda's personal ballads have a certain sound, and the ones on the album are different.


I didn't like any of the originals either, I didn't hear them until after I heard the album though, which I loved.

I just...cant take older jpop pop...it's horrible.

It's not just ballads. Some songs are mid tempo, and they are really good. I love this album!!!!
I did not even preorder it before it was out, coz I was a little worried how it would turn out. But when the leak is out and I download it, I knew I have to have this album! So I end up asking my japanese boss, who happen to return to japan for his meeting to buy for me. I only paid 2000 yen!!

you should at least listen to Megumi no Hito & BE MY BABY cos those are hot hot hot songs and if you like Futari de... you're gonna like her cover of misono's 0 Iji mae no Cinderella.. trust me!

Well she put two-three years of work into making the cover album, of course it's perfect but she makes albums perfectly in such a short period of time, imo. I'm glad we aren't getting an album too soon though because I'm still loving universe and now eternity, a new album seems too soon.

Have you listened to Suki de suki de suki de or Anata dake ga!?

She can be hit or miss with ballads... Ai no uta and her last single among others are gold, but Moon crying and Alive for example, I had to get electric shock treatment midway to listen to those completely.
