I know why she chose them, but DOUBLE wasn't popular at that time (at least nothing outstanding), AFTERSCHOOL never was as popular as Kumi and DOBERMAN INC. never was.... Namie does not choose after popularity but after what the artist means for a certain genre. Kumi is still a big seller, just not for physical CDS and I would love to see what they could pull off together.

Umm, let's also not forget that Namie worked with Crystal Kay, whose name hasn't been on anybody's lips for years.

I'm curious what a Namie/Kumi collab would be...at this point in their careers, Kumi is a much more versatile artist in terms of style (not that I love all her different genres) whereas Namie is pretty solidly in a dance-y/EDM zone for the past few albums. I guess they could do a ballad, but I don't think it'd be interesting...so maybe a dance song, but I can't help but think it would be generic as hell. Kumi is a little more ratchet when it comes to that type of music, and I just can't see Namie breaking out of her dolly image and getting gritty. But even if the song was awful, it would be interesting to see how they try to mesh their sounds!

If Namie's collab with Jolin Tsai is any indication, I think we can expect at the very least one of the best PVs either artist has done in some time.

I'm pretty sure she's not the one in charge of selecting the collaborations lol Her team must do a Powerpoint with a selection of possible features and why this person is good for her career and she would be just "nah" or "ok". I can really imagine that meeting lol

^no, Namie is definitely choosing herself - I think it is a big part of what she is in control of. She said in many interviews who she wanted to do a song with.

I think both scenarios could happen. I mean, why not be open to your staff recomendations? But for sure she decides most of the stuff and collabs herself.

And they also asked us what artist we wanted her to collaborate with. I don't forget that poll...*suspicious gaze* I voted for Kumi and Ayu 3981738 times from all the device I have. Hope we see what project that poll was for soon.

Let's be real. Her collaboration with Crystal Kay was obviously a deal with LDH. I am pretty sure LDH offered something to her.

They are not tour goods. They are shoes from GUCCI. 25 is just the designer's lucky number.
