I agree with taking a year or so off, cool down and contemplate what music is doing for her, and what she can do for music...and then come back with a bang.
*I can only imagine her last concert though. Ayu cries at almost every concert. She'd lose 75% of her body weight before the night was over

Ayumi's singing career will end when she says her career will end. I don't think she'll be making albums after the next 10-20 years. But that's a LOOOOONNNNNG time from now. She can always produce. I'm sure she could do that just as successfully as people like the Neptunes and Kanye West. Producing is a FANTASTIC career path.

Personally, I think she'd be even better as a professional producer and/or song writer than she is as a singer. A lot of her songs are really well arranged and written but I can't help but imagine someone else with better vocals singing some of them. It reminds me of Dolly Parton's "I Will Always Love You". Very deep love song that she did a while ago. But it wasn't until Whitney Houston made her rendition of it that the song reached it's true potential. NOT saying that Ayumi's songs aren't good or anything! Oh boy, hope I didn't offend anyone with that.

So when she stops singing, she can still be huge. Like a female Timbaland!

i don't know there is a chance that she will take a break but i doubt she will quit entertainment world
i want her to get married though...i think she old enough to get married..
i think her 10years anniversary will be very big, 50th single, 10 original album and maybe her 2nd best album...and GIGA BIG concert...!

well, she wouldve stopped 7 years ago if A wouldnt have sold well. and then, she wouldve stopped in 2001....but if it sells, she'l continue...so if her 50th single sold a lot, she might keep on.

It's no longer really an issue if she sells or not.. but a matter of if she still loves what she's doing.

Judging from her concerts and stuff, she's still lovin' it.

I don't think she will end her career. Because she said this before in the magazine interview, "... I won't stop to sing unless nobody listens my song in this world."

we really don't know if she's going to end her career if she will release her 50th single..she never say anything about her career ending yet...

but i do hope that she will stay longer just like madonna..
even though, she's not releasing so much music...but at least, she still exists..

I THINK, that her 50th single will be released, and along with her SECOND and FINAL but not original album, but a compilation. I think she'll stop at 10 albums, which is possibly 2009, and then her 2010 would be her 50th single, if calculations are right, it's about 4 singles a year. 2006 - 2 singles (probably 2 more) = 2 (8th album)
2007/2008 = 5 (9/10th album), 2009/2010 = 3. (tenth album)....2010, full disco. 50th single celebration? + Final Tour?
