My suspicion is that (miss)understood never reached 500k copies for its first week, if you look at the drop from first week to second week earlier in her history, selling 650k copies in two weeks means that the first week was probably around 480k-ish~.

It is indeed freaky that her first week for this album is lower than the first week of previously released singles.

When your albums start selling around 70% of your highest selling singles things has definately started changing, heh.

Guess it won't be very very successful as her previous albums. Why? because the songs in this album for me seems doesn't have corellation in theme, while it maybe have the same tune except for JEWEL (which a solo piano song, like the lyric but it doesn't have a...beat?) and 1LOVe (anyone has it, plz upload, i'm dying for this rock).

When reviewing Memorial address, I could see some invicible thread that connects the songs in one theme, golden-gothic-antique-sad-mysterious songs. But when I see Secret, even without reviewing it at the first place, I feel awkaward...I dunno just odd..

Somehow (miss)understood doesn't seem to have one, either, to me. It's just Ayumi Hamasaki, all styles in one, greatness. The only corelation would maybe be that half of the songs are composed by GEO. To me, Secret has a pretty Happy-Go-Lucky theme as of now, hard to know or judge about anything until we've heard the other half of the album.

There haven't been the least hint of this song yet, apart from the CM, expect to see it all over when it leaks .

I honestly don't think so but I hope that Ayu will pleasently surprise me!

I'm guessing it has a chance to do as well as (miss). The singles didn't sell as much as MU's, but MU also had the disliked Bold & Delicious as the final single and bad covers. Secret has the mini/full album excitement and a lot of DVD content, and the lack of Ayu singles this year might mean that people are now eager to hear more (her sales did start climbing up again after B&D). So not a million but respectable sales is my guess.

Considering that album sales in general has taken a turn downwards during the past years, selling as much as (m)u would be a pretty good achievement for next year.

It's hard to make expectations, because I do feel that Secret can make it to incredible sales, I am pretty sure that Black Cherry will sell more though, considering that artist has had very strong sales recently. As that album is released at around the same time (I guess? It was announced around the same time at least) I believe they'll be released around the same time, and steal sales from eachother.

I highly doubt Secret will hit 1 millon copies,since there are few artists will release albums at the same time.

i don't think the effect is that significant. Sales-wise, both artist can bring in quite a significant one. If the difference in date is that important, one can easily argue that BoA's OUTGROW affected the sales of (m)u. S/BTB and B ~ss~ doesn't count as it is impossible to compare a single to a 'best' album
