But anyway, until that day, we can still congratulate Ayu on her awesome physical sales XD.

What do you all think it will reach? I personally guess it'll be somewhere around 320k, if it has a chartlife similar to NL.

It'll most likely be a number between 317 and 320k

It'll be REALLY depressing if it doesn't even get to 310k, though unexpected things happen. >.<

I wouldn't mind two seperate charts if the digital chart would actually supply the numbers, not just certifications.

Besides, I don't think anyone wants to add ringtone downloads. That's something completely different. If they would just merge physical single sales and all FULL-SONG downloads together, I'd be a happy chart addict.
Yeah, but that's for singles. What about albums? People would have to download a certain amount of tracks for it to be considered 1 album sale. And we all know her album tracks don't do as well. So merging the charts just for singles and keeping them separate for albums is pointless. Things might as well stay the way they are. And people referring to Oricon instead of weighing in all of the factors that contribute to popularity doesn't warrant a reason to merge the charts. Arashi is a great example. Since a lot of their stuff are not available for digital download, their ranking would plummet if the charts were fused. However, they're undeniably popular, one of the most popular acts in Japan. There are more things involved and two charts becoming one doesn't solve the problem.

Although having a chart for physical and full-track digital sales would make things a lot easier for "single" sales, it doesn't make things better all around, in my opinion.

I don't really get what you're saying. If one downloads the entire album, it counts as one album sold. If one downloads a single song, it counts as a song download. Where's the issue? Add the physical album sales to the digital album sales, and you have the sales.

Also, I don't see the problem with Arashi. The SOLE reason Johnny's chose not to release their songs digitally is to dominate the charts. If the charts were to be merged I'm sure they'd change that, they're suckers for chart succes it appears.

Besides, this is the way it's done in the rest of the world so I don't see why it wouldn't work in Japan. Also, if you're worried about accurate representations of popularity, other charts factor in airplay as well, which can fix that. It's not like the current charts are very clear about popularity either. Galileo Galilei's song Hamanasu no Hana was a big download hit that received a lot of airplay, but it only reached no. 15 on the Oricon charts.

Oh, there was never a full album that was certified in Japan so I don't think it would help much.
The Japanese people download legally mainly full songs and ringtones. From time to time there are full singles who get certificated but never full albums.
Not a lot of singles as well, just a few in a year.

I thought your main point of putting the charts together was to show popularity, which I don't think one chart would accurately depict any better than two. Sorry

Ooh lol, I guess we misunderstood each other : P.

@ayumisrael :

But isn't it just that no full albums have been certified because they simply haven't started counting?

Here in Holland a significant amount of album sales are digital, yet only physical sales are certified. It might be the same in Japan, but I don't know that for sure.

Wasn't the NL tour rated really low on Amazon Japan? Yet it's selling so much..
It's really a great tour imo, I need to get around to buying it, but damn it's so expensive.

It was rated by people based on what they saw during the concert they saw and not the DVD. (or by conniving trolls.) Just goes to show that people who review releases 2 months before they come out probably aren't all that, hahaha.

Speaking of Amazon, Rock'n'Roll Circus' rating is so high, haha.

164 Reviews
5 star: (116)
4 star: (18)
3 star: (10)
2 star: (6)
1 star: (14)

4.5/5 average on the site.

i bet rollin helped the sales with the dance LOL jks jks, but overall this concert was more fun to watch and had that crazy fun energy to it compared to AT08, the whole theme/atmosphere of that concert was dark and serious..

LMAO I love that dance! xD
But yes, the fact that the concert is so much fun helps and I'm happy for the sales, she's doing it great ^^

Maybe a lot of people that didn't go because they thought it's not good regret it and buy the dvd (or bought the dvd as a part of the boxset) lol.
